Hugs startsmartHow long do I wait for an estimate? I realize I sent the photos on Sunday, but I'm anxious. I have researched other painters. I want this to happen this winter.

TheO I think you need to wait till Wed or Thurs.
If that's too hard, you could always try calling or emailing to ask if they've received your photos.
Patience is not my strong point either LOL.

Talked to DH about the "work from home" thread on YM. Long story short, it looks like he is willing to double my salary and let me do his billing on QB.
I work for DH a half day/month. This would mean that as of Jan, I'd work for him 1 day/month, for double my salary. Which would mean I could give up two classes a year.
I REALLY hope this actually happens. I told him DH he has two months to create a QB template he's happy with so I can practice in Dec and be operational in Jan.
That would be pretty life-changing for me, because it would mean I could teach 3 (long) days/week instead of 3.5 or 4.

Thank you. No patience is not my strong suit. It took me a day to take the photos. I "guess" they deserve more time.

I’m just giving up on today.
The house sale fell through and I don’t have my gym membership anymore so I can’t go punch something.
One client today said my eyes looked bright which is what happens when you’ve been crying all day.

Sending hugs Smart. Sometimes it just doesn't matter what you are doing you can still get kicked in the teeth.

You can copy DVDs to computer. That's what I did with all of ours about 10 years ago. Then I sold them all to Amazon. They probably don't buy them back anymore, but at the time I got several hundred dollars out of them. More importantly, I got them out of the house. I don't think we have ever even bothered to watch any of them since then. Amazon will still buy stuff, but not at big prices. They have a list, I think they call it the Trade In Program. I've never explored it much because I didn't have that much I wanted rid of so wouldn't be worth the effort. Thank you very much for this information, CL!

[snip] I have found that I feel that my friends in Colorado don't value our friendships as much as I do. I have one who will call me, but all the others wait until I call. When I'm feeling resentful about that, I pull back for a while. I am in that spot presently. This. I'm finding my CA friends don't realize the interstate and airlines go both directions.

Came home late from the party, took laundry up to DS3's room. Stupidly decided to check out the laundry basket upstairs which was full. So started a load with that (and their towels). It's times like this when I'm very tempted to downsize.
Also DD's bathroom drawers are FULL of stuff she hasn't used in years. She's coming for dinner tomorrow so I'm VERY tempted to put it in a bag for her to take home to go through.
I decided my kids were never going to move home (DD might, but the stuff in the bathroom is very old!) and just ruthlessly tossed stuff I didn't think was good anymore. Old makeup is not safe to use, so almost everything got pitched. DD and I get our nails done at the salon, so almost all the nail polish got pitched. 65 % of what was in the vanity drawers and about 50% of what was in the medicine cabinet got pitched. DD told me the old toothpaste was hard, so I felt free to pitch it all out.
Start Smart, I am sorry, you sale fell through! We had that happen once. It was quite a mess. Hugs.

Bean I know I could have done it but I prefer for DD to do it herself. It all packed up into 2 toiletry bags. There's one left to give her, with a bunch of perfume bottles. Again, I'd rather she sort that out herself.
I found out today that I got a "permanent" contract at Job 2 (the same contract I have at Job 1). I'm very happy about that. I have yet to receive and sign it but I trust them.

We had over 3 inches of rain overnight and supposed to be a repeat tonight.
Furnace has been serviced and batteries changed out on 9 smoke alarms. His prediction is furnace will make it through the winter but he can't 100% guarantee that.
Repairman lives a couple of streets over from me. He said his sump pump runs as often as mine does.
I woke up feeling like I am catching a cold. Hope a nap will help that situation.

Sorry startsmart Iggy aka IG sometimes they want what you want to get rid of, sometimes they don't. It's a crapshoot but it's there at least.

I used to hate when I'd travel from Delaware to California and my friends in my hometown couldn't drive ten miles to come see me, despite me having flown/driven more than 3000 miles to visit home. I had something similar ages ago with xH's siblings. We lived in our home country for about 3 years in between international moves. Several of his siblings never once bothered to come and visit. Then when we announced that we were moving to Bangkok they were all of a sudden hot to trot to come and visit and had no problem announcing it during a family gathering at his parent's house. Afterward I told him that whoever had visited us in E. was welcome to visit us in Bangkok. Everyone else could come to Bangkok all they wanted but they would have to find a hotel to stay in.
Enough was enough. They had no problems hurting his feelings by never showing up for any of his birthdays, yet us traveling with two young kids to them was totally expected. And then they had the gall to expect us to act as hotel for them? Yea right...

My cousins thought I was a free hotel when I lived in Colorado. Had these been cousins I was close to and who went out of their way to see me when I visited Iowa, I would not have cared.
Back in the days before cell phones, one showed up with his wife and baby daughter. Happened to be one of the cousins I really don't like. It was obvious they wanted a place to stay. However, my sister and her 3 kids were due whenever they arrived that day. I told the cousins this and they didn't leave. Then sister and family showed up and almost immediately, the cousins hit the road.
Sister's visit was planned and they were quite welcome to visit.
Mom and dad and my favorite aunt and uncle visited a few times. I didn't mind being their hotel either.
Now I have cousins who post photos on FB of visiting the town along the Mississippi and they don't contact either sister or me to visit.

It's still raining and we are up to over 3.5 inches of rain. That is after over 13 inches of rain in September.

I tried to get my kids to go through that bathroom for several years. DH changed the countertop and sink out, therefore I ended up cleaning the vanity, relining the drawers with new shelf paper, and I just stared pitching stuff out.
Congrats on the Permanent Contract Job!

Instead of having another yard sale this Saturday, I'm donating the crap to Purple Heart. They come tomorrow. So does a friend who is buying two bookcases and a board game.

This weekend is going to suck. - rental meeting/ Thurs - online marking/Fri - all day meeting at the main campus/Sat - put up the art in DS2's room/DH's office
I ventured upstairs again. I found not 1, not 2, but 3 fans in the guest room! I put them all where they belong (DS2's closet, guest room closet for DD's, upstairs landing for DS3's).

Woke up with a full blown cold. Did my dad duties, came home and slept.
I did buy sudafed, which I had to sign for because I might make meth out of it.

I hope you feel better soon TheO. The drug situation in the US is just insane.
I know that antihistamines are very tightly controlled in the US. They're pretty controlled here in France too. If ever any of you suffer from allergies, they are a LOT easier to get in the UK. I have allergies, so does DS2. I need to take them every time I garden or get bitten by anything. DS2 is extremely allergic to Bunny so he needs to take them every time he comes home.
I generally stock up in the UK. I didn't last trip because we never made it to the CVS-type store (not enough time). But DS3 is there so he can get them in much bigger quantities, and much cheaper.
