This should be interesting ,especially when those who currently possess them must turn them in. Trump administration officially bans bump stocks(CNN)The Trump administration is officially banning bump-fire stocks, senior Justice Department officials told CNN Tuesday. Under a new federal rule, those who possess the devices, commonly known as bump stocks, will get 90 days to turn them in from the date that the final rule is published in the federal register, which is likely Friday, the officials said. Bump stocks gained national attention last year after a gunman in Las Vegas rigged his weapons with the devices to fire on concertgoers, killing 58 people. President Donald Trump vowed to outlaw the devices soon after the tragedy, and some lawmakers on Capitol Hill urged him to back a permanent legislative fix. How many think that people who have them will actually turn them in, or destroy them though? It doesn't sound like they're going to be offered any compensation for the money they spent on them, so there's not a ton of incentive.

Possible fines/criminal charges filed against them if found with one. If you cannot take it outside your home/outdoors, what good is it. It won't stop people intent killing multiple people at once, but at least no new ones will be sold.

Personally, that's not incentive enough, in my opinion. They have now lost money, which is more important than anything to some people.

Where are the "our weapons are being taken away!!!" people? And the screaming about how it's unconstitutional?
What the heck is different about this 'ban'?
Is this ban nothing more than "rhetoric" and bump stocks will still be sold or traded?

Bump stocks are crap. Unreliable, malfunctioning POS. Nobody will miss them.

This shocked me, too - seems like something that would antagonize the few remaining die hard Trumpettes.

Wow! Didn't see this one coming. I wonder how his rabid fan base will view this? ... the final rule is published in the federal register -- likely this Friday -- according to senior DOJ officials. Does this allow for a change if the reaction is too negative? I would like to see a Trump tweet that praises this new regulation before getting too excited.

Sorry folks...I happen to think this is DT trying to distance himself from the NRA since the "spy" is cooperating...and could implicate a lot of things pertaining to Russian $$$$.
It's a good thing, I just think there is an ulterior motive for doing it!

Well, I don't think I have EVER said this before, but- Good For Him. It's almost like Nixon opening China, LOL. And I don't imagine his base will like it, but I bet they will excuse it. The NRA? The NRA actually supports it: home.nra.org/joint-statement“The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations.”

Turn them in , ok, since I don't own any, never intended to own any,, does not make any difference to me. How many were out there, I don't think that there were many. this is only feel good rules, that will make,,, like,,, "No" difference. So if you do have one , turn it in, do you have to register with the government?
