You don't wear a wedding ring, which is a pagan symbol of continuity?

You never utter or write the names of the month? January is named after the pagan god, Janus, for example. March for the god Mars. Do you use a different calendar? Days of the week also have pagan roots. Just about everything has pagan roots.

The symbol of the cross is pagan as well.

Virgil, you don't celebrate Easter (Ishtar), which sprung from paganism, worshiping the goddess of fertility? Correct. I observe the holy days as laid out in the Old Testament. The same observances kept by Christ, his apostles, and the First Century church. In spring, this comprises the Passover, the Days of Unleavened Bread, and the Feast of Weeks, also known as Pentecost. No Yoga at those either.

The symbol of the cross is pagan as well. I don't adorn jewelry with crosses or the ichthys (or any jewelry at all, actually, although this is only by preference). As for the days of the week or the months of the year, not much I can do there. The English language is what it is. When in the company of other Christians who know what it means, I generally refer to the 7th day, Saturday, as the Sabbath. You're trying to make the argument that Yoga in the West has been stripped down and sanitized so thoroughly that it's nothing more than an exercise programme for most people, and perhaps you're right, but i) the problem of perception that I mentioned earlier is still in play, and ii) there are a million alternatives to Yoga, hence why dice with a questionable practice when there's absolutely no need? I do believe a Christian can take the commandment to keep oneself unspotted from the world beyond its intended parameters. For example, a church that won't convene in a community hall because other religious groups--or a Yoga class--meet there on other days of the week. The matter of "how far is too far" is scriptural, and we can't discuss it here even if you were interested. Suffice to say I'm not a hermit living in isolation, even in a society that generally wants nothing to do with my religion.

No there are not a million alternatives to yoga. My local gym has machines, yoga classes, zumba classes, and body pump. I hate zumba, and for some, body pump may not be it. Even the larger gym I now belong to has zumba, body pump, yoga, yogi?, body attack and spin. I don’t consider myself in good enough shape for spin or body attack, don’t care for zumba, not sure about yogiI did it once, class time does not work for me.

I have a herniated disc in my lower back.
The spine specialist recommended yoga for exercise. Yoga is great for core strength and flexibility, both of which will ward off surgery as long as possible.
Or maybe he wants me to go to hell.

If you care to, you can have a ball mocking Orthodox Jews who won't eat with Gentiles, Muslims who stipulate that certain places are holy and can only be visited by Muslims, Sikhs who won't pray near a slaughterhouse, etc., etc. All based on spiritual laws and not physical ones. Maybe post a few jokes about "Gentile cooties" on an Orthodox Jewish message board for a few laughs.

On the bright side, I didn't see where he demonized yoga pants. They just don’t seem to compliment my figure the way that I had hoped.
