The current one is "not a high enough percentage to count."

Meanwhile, this is the trending story on LA Times - www.latimes.com/local/california/la-na-pol-mccarthy-contracts-20181014-story.htmlA company owned by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s in-laws won more than $7 million in no-bid and other federal contracts at U.S. military installations and other government properties in California based on a dubious claim of Native American identity by McCarthy’s brother-in-law, a Times investigation has found.

six to ten generations back,,, Like before we were a Country? Weren't we debating that Native American didn't show up in the DNA test? Maybe she ate some Indian fry bread before the test.

Of course if it is true,, drag him out, lynch him from the nearest tree,,, on the other hand Pocahontas,, received benefits from her "large amount of native blood", with breaks in tuition.. That's OK! What tuition breaks based on native blood did she receive?

... Don't worry, though, you can just shift your argument to 'fake test results.' Or maybe "Someone else's blood." Nice try on anticipating. But wrong: Didn't see that one coming, did ya?

Quote removed as post quoted has been removed. mmhmm, Politics Moderator What tuition breaks based on native blood did she receive? This is a long time allegation with no proof much like the Obama got into college because he applied as a foreign student nonsense. Someone posts the allegation and then people who read these things post it as if its truth with nothing real to support it.

Ok. I want to make this clear right now that I don't care when and where calling Elizabeth Warren "Pocahontas" orginated. I don't care that it's being used in main stream media. It was meant to be derogatory and that is NOT acceptable here. And obviously, it is not her name.
Referring to Warren in this fashion is against our CoC so I would suggest that anyone who has called her that (quotes of news articles excepted) edit said posts before you find them deleted. OldCoyote, I'm talking to you, for a start. And, happyhoix, that means your thread title needs to be changed as well. It's not included in the original article's title that way.

The current one is "not a high enough percentage to count." I don't believe the argument was how high a % of native American she might have...just did she or didn't she... Fact was, in passing in the family she was told by grandparents, cousins , parents...who knows, someone ...she had SOME Native American blood in her make up...not who, when...just some a long time ago. She mentioned it in passing during some political campaign ...It was picked up by the Donald as something he could use to Diss and make fun of the person...she was not a supporter of his...similar to his making fun of the reporter with his shakes because of his affliction to Parkinsons disease [ another non supporter of his] ...making light and ridiculing if the Gold Star family..they lost their son in combat...[ another non supporter of his...are u getting the picture here?] He does things like this and his supporters ..u are one correct?...eat it up so he loves doing this..

~moon/admin To be honest, I think that's pretty much on par with Trump calling Cruze 'lying Ted Cruz' and Hillary "Crooked Hillary" - ridiculous, childish taunts that should never come out of a president's mouth - but I don't want to inadvertently be racist, so I changed it.

Various analysis have been done to determine is she was able to get any free hand outs or special treatment by calling herself native American and there's no proof she ever did..
The truth, however, no longer seems to be important. You can say anything you want, as long as you do it frequently and loudly, certain people will believe it.

I have a cousin that attended Smith College on a Native American scholarship. Her father is Navaho. She didn't grow up on a reservation, but she does have documentation to prove her ancestry.

I'm glad Trump (and his supporters) have cleared up any misconceived notions that their dismissal of Warren was anything other than Name Calling.

Trump owes Warren's favorite charity $1 million. Expect him to weasel out and for his supporters to support it. As far as Trump...anything he does that is not Kosher it's expected...who and what he is since a kid...It's the supporters who as he said , would not turn him in if he killed some one on 5th Ave in NY....so loyal...Only ones more loyal IMHO in recent years are those who followed Adolf..Committed suicide with their families at end of WW2...Goebbels and family as examples..certain Mayors and advisors as Allies took over their towns.. Regarding his promise to pay a million dollars for a DNA test...now he says " Who cares".... I care....even his supporters care though they are to cowardly to admit it...The money...for someone who supposedly is worth many Billions is pocket change...but it does show he is not a man of his word... I would guess the $ would be spread among some charities...they would care. The million dollars he promised to be given to veteran affairs some time ago...not sure if he ever delivered on that or if so, had to be called out first before a check was written. Man is so deficient.... [by the way, how is the market doing today...got to check]

Math is your friend. You should use it before you post. The number of years between a family's generations are around 20-30 years. On the higher side now, lower in the past and could conceivably be lower than 20 years (ie a 16 year old having a child is only 16 years between the generations). So at 20 years even if it's 10 generations back that's only 200 years. Our country is older than that. At 30 years 6 generations back is still after our country was founded and so is 8. Though I'm not sure what whether the ancestor was alive before or after our country is founded has to do with the question of whether or not she has any native american ancestors.

You can't move the goal posts after you're proven wrong. Donald asked for a test, she gave it. She was right, he was wrong. End. Of. Story.
