You can always find one of the kids who is writtin on the wall. Just punch them several times a day, until it stops. Sooner or later, she will get her friends to stop. Violence does work!

Blue I just got back from the restroom......you DON'T want to know what I wrote there about you. If you get phone calls at 2AM asking for the special don't be surprised.

I know a family that had a lawyer send a letter to another family whose child was bullying their child. I have no idea what the letter said, or really any background on the situation - but word it, it was effective. In a part of town where half the kids have a parent who is an attorney, and the other half have parents who are friends with an attorney - you best keep your kid in check.

We taught our 4 never to bully and never to throw the first punch but to throw the last one. It has been good advice. When our youngest daughter (and smallest kid) got bullied in middle school she bit the bullet, decked the guy and left long fingernail scratches down his cheek. She was suspended for 3 days but got no punishment from us as she had done right and we told her so. The bully got 5 days suspension. She was never bothered again in middle school or high school as people know she wouldn't take it. It likely helps that from time to time each of these 4 has needed the other 3 to watch his or her back and they have.

Gee Doc, I changed my number, but I see you are still a popular guy in the men's rooms. Everyone understands a slap upside the head! Bully's just are not used to getting stood up to. Show them you are not a patsy and they move on.

Here is a link to a series that our local media did: www.kfyrtv.com/Bullies.htmlAs I was thinking about this thread, acting classes could be a big help in a variety of ways and through life. I needed to take my own advice when a teen.

Blue that doesn't work if your kid is 40 pounds and the bully is 150. It does if you give him a swift kick in the 'nads first.

I imagine your daughter has friends at school who are also bullied. That's usually the case. One thing these kids can do is to stick together, move about in a group whenever possible, and don't end up where you can be cornered, alone. When the bullying starts, keep your chin up, your eyes forward, and a smile on your face. Laugh and joke, and talk to one another. Behave as though the bullies don't exist. If they get in your face, go around them. If it gets physical, it's time to get the school administration, and the teachers involved. The parents should make their presence very well known to teachers, principal, and other leadership. Were I the parent, they'd think I'd become part of their family!

My kid got suspended for 3 days for fighting his senior year of high school. It was kind of a weird situation and I wasn't sure as a parent how to address what happened ...
In P.E. one of my kid's classmates kept picking on a couple younger (on the small side) kids during a pretty hard core dodge ball game. My son warned his classmate several times to knock it off. His classmate continued after the warning and my kid lost his temper and tackled him - which turned into a fight between the two.
I had several parents (including the stepfather of the boy my son tackled) tell me they were glad my kid took matters into his own hands because the teacher was present but doing nothing about it and the other boy has been known to bully and regularly push his weight around and deserved to e on the receiving end for once. (both my boy and the other were linebackers on a state championship football team to give you an indication of their size) ... In the end, I made my kid apologize and grounded him for a month (he could go to school and work only) - my stance was that violence isn't the answer and while his classmate was wrong for picking on the smaller/younger kids (or any kids for that matter), starting the physical altercation put my kid at the same level as the boy he attacked.

That's just stupid. Hoping your kid gets a lucky cheap shot in is just setting him up for failure. Anyone who asks their smaller child to physically confront a larger bully is just an idiot.

Re: Counter bullying - what to do?
Hit "Report To Mod" and give your reasons why you think you are being bullied here..but if the Bully is one of the so called "Untouchables" then forget it & live with it....IMHO

The trick is when you hit someone in the nads, you keep hitting there, until they drop. Don't be a one hit wonder, or you will get your head handed to you. The big bully isn't expecting the resistance to begin with, so you have a few moments to gain the advantage.

Blue having been in quite a few fights it's nice to talk about having a few moments to get the advantage and all but it's not all that easy. The other guy doesn't just stand there you know lol. Unless you're kid is a trained fighter he'll get the crap beat out of him.

Bluerobin: So I am curious- you teach a kid to stand up for himself and to physically attack his bully. Don't you worry that down the road your kid will think that's the way to solve all problems and eventually turn in to a bully himself?

How in the heck can one be bullied on a message board? You can move to another thread, you can ignore the bully, or you can turn off the computer and find something else to do. It's not like someone has got you cornered in the middle school bathroom!

You fit in here great. You can just berate anyone you don't like until only the "approved" members are on the board.
