Care to share your experience?
Do you need a roku and remote for each TV like a normal cable tv setup ?

It's a lot cheaper than cable TV and despite not having certain channels/shows I've realized that when I don't see commercials for channels, shows and movies it's out of sight out of mind. I've got two roku's one for each TV and that's how I stream sling, hulu, netflix and amazon prime. We have the $25 a month option, we're able to watch sling on both tv's at the same time, some of the channels let you replay shows that previously aired over the last so many days and some have streaming options. I believe sling still offers "free" roku sticks if you sign up for a few months initially: www.sling.com/devices/rokuAfter that you go month to month and can cancel any time.

Love Sling. We have Rokus for each tv, got 1 free when we signed up with Sling other one someone gave us. I believe we pay $24.99. We had the cheaper option, but wanted ability to stream on more than 1 device and access to some of the sports channels. They seem to always give away the free Roku. The Roku comes with the remote. For the money, it is much better than cable! I watch mine on my phone sometimes, too, especially when traveling.

We have Roku sticks for each tv and Sling? We pay about $25 a month for Sling I think. We use the Roku to stream tv shows and movies on Sling, Amazon Prime, Hulu. We also have an antenna for local channels and I think we get about wt channels with the antenna. We do have to pay for internet to use everything, but our bill dropped from almost $200 a month to less than $90.
With Sling we can still get channels like HGTV, Food Network, etc. they also have a sports option for a little more every month for those who like to watch sports.
We love our setup! I get to watch my cooking and home shows and DH gets his regular shows on the local channels.

I had Sling and really liked it. I cancelled because I didn't want to watch live. I have since found out that you can pay $5 extra a month and get cloud storage so I can watch when I want. I'm signing up again.
I was paying $230/month for cable/internet/home phone with TWC. With Sling ($25 for blue package +$5 for cloud storage +$5 for add on channels) at $35/month plus internet at $50/month with Google Fiber and $12 for Hulu with no commercials and $14 for Netflix on multiple devices, I'll pay much less at $111/month and will be able to watch it anywhere. I can also cancel any of them at any time and pick them back up later if I really wanted to.
I have a smart tv in my living room and Thing 2 has a tv with a Roku stick. Or we can watch on our cell phones or laptops anywhere. I love it.

If you don't want a Roku, you can also stream through a bunch of different devices like gaming consoles etc. Go to the Sling website and it will tell you which devices are compatible.

I had Sling and cancelled it in favor of PlayStation Vue (PSVue has NESN. you lived here, you know.)
I stream my service via fire stick, and opted for the multi-login option. I remember Orange and Blue, but don't remember which was the multi. you get different channels between the two options, with a bit of overlap. you can also add packages - I added sports, which turned out to be way more college content than I needed. one of the things I liked was that I could sign in to various online streaming services (NBC Sports during the Olympics, for instance) and use my Sling login as my cable provider.

I didn't know you could list Sling as a cable provider. I'm definitely signing back up now. I may not need the add on channels. Yay!

yup. you use the login credentials like you would any actual cable provider.
one thing that made me crazy was that sling worked off the firewall when I'd log in from work (which placed me in IL, central time zone) and not based on whatever I said my home location was (eastern). PSVue tries to tell me I'm in the Providence market all the time, which I'm not. so that's fun. but hey, way cheaper than comcrap!

We love our sling. We used a Roku because we had no other way to stream.
Watch for deals though. When we signed up for sling, I think we got a free Roku. Then when we got the Roku, we got a free month of HBO. Timed it so we could watch GoT.
With sling, you can also pro-rate getting the premium channels. We did watch the newest season of Homeland a month or so ago. We paid under 5.00 for access for two weeks. We paid the same thing to get access to the last season of GoT. You just have to order the premium channels after the second half of the month and cancel before the next month starts.

Just got the Amazon Fire Stick and Fire Tv and will be using Sling on them as soon as DH signs us up. We have a college athlete in the family, so definitely want all the college sports content. chiver78: how do you watch the Pats? NFL Network app or on local channels?

I don't have Sling anymore, PS Vue has the local networks, so I'm all set there. but after signing up for Sling, I paid an electrician to install an 85mi antenna for local channels. I still use it for 7 once in awhile. my 85mi antenna had a few brothers in the listings, if you need a recommendation. I've held off on buying one for my parents until they figure out where they ultimately want to move to. I signed up for Sling on Friday and have been binge watching Teen Mom 2. I missed all of last season. I'm going to have to see if all my shows are on it and if I really need Hulu. The girls use my Netflix a lot, so I'll keep that even though I don't use it that much.
