NBC News linkDrunk Americans spend a total of $30B online each year — but what they drink impacts how crazy they get The average American buys $447.57 worth of stuff while drunk — more than double what people said they spent on drunk purchases last year. A new survey from rehab facility Archstone Recovery Center found that when people log on to Amazon while hitting the sauce, they can incur a financial hangover, as well. The amount people spent tended to vary based on their preferred type of alcohol: Gin drinkers tended to splurge the most, spending an average of more than $82. Even whiskey drinkers, the most frugal group when classified by type of alcohol, wound up spending almost $40. (Beer drinkers were the only other group to spend less than $40, and people drinking red or white wine spent about $42 and $46, respectively.) ******click the link for the full article******

I might spend a few bucks on pizza, nachos, or tacos when I’m drunk, but I don’t do this at all. Unless you count sitting down with a glass of wine while I’m shopping online for clothes. But I don’t buy more stuff than I’m planning to when I sit down... But I hate, hate, hate to shop for anything and tend to avoid it until we’re in danger of actually having to eat that can of pumpkin that moved here with me in 2002 or wearing literal rags to school or work. Yes, I have had to run out at lunch to buy TP so there will be some to put on the empty roll when I get home from work. DH keeps a roll in his trunk for emergencies. Hmm, maybe I can train myself to buy TP when I’m drunk...

I cannot find either my DD's nor my very good Lands End raincoats. We lost one a few years back, now I can't find the other one. I need to get 2 and they are not cheap. We would wear them a lot on trips, lightweight, could wear a sweater under them and very warm, that way. I ordered one replacement and it was so bad, sent it back. Maybe try LL Bean.

First: Who studies these things? Second: alcohol is not a factor in how much I spend online.

I really wonder how much I spend on drinking while online, particularly while on this board.

I like the cologne Issey Miyake, while I was drunk getting ready to go out for the night (don’t judge me it was following friday happy hour) I knocked over 3/4 of a giant bottle, broken glass everywhere, room smelled like a French hoor for a week, you get the idea.
I decided to order more on Amazon while out, stupidly buying the giant bottle that my enormous wingspan is due to break again.
It has become a drunken time loop, a self fulfilling prophecy if you will.

I do massive amounts of e-shopping sober. E-shopping is a solo/boredom activity and I don't usually drink alone.

I really wonder how much I spend on drinking while online, particularly while on this board. I totally blame this board for my increase in alcohol consumption!

NADA!!!! I don't drink anymore! And when I did, I never really did online shopping. That was a job best left sober. Now, shooting my mouth, through my fingertips, oh, that's a whole 'nother ball of wax. Let's not go there.

I don't ever really feel the urge to shop when I have been drinking. I am much more likely to log on to an online forum and explain to people why they are wrong.

I drink gin. I rarely shop online unless I'm specifically looking for something.
So who is the other gin drinker out there counterbalancing me?

Audrey Classic Double Breasted Trench Coat with Detachable Flannel Liner & Hood QTY: 1 Color - Black Size Type - Regular Size - X-Large $119 I have a London Fog like that without the liner. Mine is beige & I got it at Sam's for $40...love it. It's below the butt length & has a tie belt if you want it...but love having the hood too, which is detachable.

I only drink when we go out to dinner so I'm not on the net during those times. I've never bought anything on line while having consumed any alcohol.
My choice is tequila anyway...margarita...straight up NO ICE & salt on the glass rim.

The coat is nice, got to try it on without the liner think it will be way to big,
its supposed to be a 16-18, wonder if the large will be to small? I haven't
tried that yet.

I can hardly find my way around on a computer while sober. Imagine what happens if I’m drunk! But then again, when the hell did I buy those boots that I never wear?😂

I see these commercials and think - that looks soo good. and get so interested into purchasing that Tequila or Brandy! but here in NJ. that means a special trip and purchase from a liquor store. which there is one on the way home. but to stop in and remember what I saw in a commercial to purchase; and what about the cost is another story.
