The airline attendants are now going to sell passengers credit cards.

this isn't all that new. US Airways used to do this when I was travelling a ton, maybe a decade ago?

The only thing that seems to be 'new' is that it is now MANDITORY rather than volunteer. There was an incentive for the ones doing it volunteer and they have increased it, but now is mandatory with United.

They don't want to hear my profanity laced refusal.

American airlines did this on my flight last month. Seems pretty standard at this point.

United passengers won't be able to avoid the flight attendants trying to sell CCs on long-haul flights. But there will not be enough time on short trips. If there is not enough time for beverages to be served on a flight then there shouldn't be enough time to push CCs on passengers.

American used to do it in the same breath as the safety briefing.

Over and done with pretty fast.

I just flew United. They did mention credit cards, but nothing was pushy about it. It was done in like 2-3 minutes, and that was that. I have had credit card spiels on pretty much every flight I have been on, no matter the company.
