I'm trying to get back into something resembling a healthy human lifeform and thinking about getting a fitness tracker to help guilt me into movement and better habits.
I would like to hear from folks that have one, and if it's worked well for you - what you love and what you hate about it. A friend has the Fitbit Alta HR and likes it really well. I'm not a super athlete so I don't need all the bells and whistles, but do want one that holds up to daily wear.
TIA!

I have the Fitbit charge HR2. I like it. I've been wearing it daily for over a year and you can easily swap the bands.

I have a FitBit Charge 2. I wear a watch anyway, so it works well for that.
My son has an Alta. He doesn’t care if he has a full watch or not.
My husband has a Flex 2 because he won’t wear anything on his wrist. He wears it on his ankle.

I have a Flex but haven't been using it the past couple years. It doesn't do much but count steps.
My son has a fitbit Blaze and he loves that thing. It tracks a lot more plus acts like a smart watch where he receives texts and email through it.

I have an Alta. Somehow it synced with my phone and tells when calls are coming in. I have no idea how it happened. I like it. I'm sure I'm not using it to its potential.
This is my second fitbit. I had a different one and the band seperated. We glued it but couldn't keep it together. And the band wasn't changable.
I'm trying to get the Alta to sync with my My Fitness Pal account. I need to look for a demo on it.

I have a Garmin Forerunner 235 - mostly for running because it has GPS - but it also tracks steps, calories, and sleep. Plus it's waterproof, so I can use it for swimming as well.

I have the little Fitbit zip. I like it. The only thing that annoys me is sometimes it goes through batteries at a fast rate.

I had a fit bit - but it died after 8 months and I never replaced it. I wasn't really using all the bells and whistles - I just want to know how many steps I've taken.... I don't care about challenges or getting a Gold Star when I've walked more today than yesterday. I currently have a $20 "FitBuddy" pedometer. It just counts steps, has a big read out and uses an inexpensive, readily available button battery. I have to reset it every morning. It can be worn as a pendant (I have it on an ID leash) or put in your pocket. I haven't bothered to find a clip for it. Yeah, it's low tech... but it does the job. I've found it to be fairly accurate with my usage (I walk/train/walk to/from work - for 2 miles a day. If I go for a lunch walk - I'm getting a solid 3 miles a day.) I easily get 10K steps a day 12k if I do some evening chores at home.
