So I was so tired I sat down with the wife and she made me watch "Dancing With the Stars". I was too weak to resist and put up a fight. Here's what I learned: 1. Petra OMG OMG I am in love! 2. Ralph Machio looks like he has advanced cancer. 3. Sugar Ray is still in great shape. 4. I still hate Heinz Ward and the Steelers. 5. The least known "stars" are always kicked off first. 6. Wendy Williams kinda has a man face but I still find her attractive. What have you learned?

That you are really generous with the word "attractive"?

I typically watch Simpsons reruns, which come on right before. I've learned that afterwards, I will quickly change the channel to anything else to avoid watching one second of this show. Last time I did this, I learned that QVC sells some pretty crappy stuff.
Another thing I've learned from the ads is that Kirstie Alley needs to never be seen or heard from again.

I learned that I would rather poke my eyes out with knitting needles than watch DWTS.

The costumes are great. I can critique the costumes. I can judge them but dislike the voted off disappointment. DWTS bridges the gap of no new shows and summer reruns. I wonder how they get so many stars into the audience. Remembering previous winners can tax my brain so I keep a list of contestants and who voted off when. OCD tracking. I can talk with friends about the show and the topic isn't the weather! The lighting is bad for Ralph. I think Wendy could body slam Dr. Pig! (My DS is disappointed in me for those snarky remarks and he hasn't even seen one.) ETA: correct word choice.

One other thing... I've learned that Pig LOVES DWTS and will gather 'round the water cooler the next day with all of the other work behemoths in order to compare notes.

I don't mind some reality shows like Top Chef, Project Runway, etc. I have to admit to Teen Mom2. DH for some unexplained reason likes America's Next Top Model. But I absolutely refuse to watch those other shows. I have successfully avoided watching an entire episode of Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, Apprentice, Survivor, Bachelor, etc.
I am with the others in the whole "rather poke my eyes out with rusty knitting needles that watch DWTS.

WTF Pig - you find Wendy Williams attractive and Kirstie Alley unattractive? I feel like I should recommend that you see a doctor or something....

I never found her attractive, even when she was on cheers. She was attractive when she was younger, like when she was in Star Trek II. By the time she reached Cheers, her a$$ had already started to grow exponentially, which is why they stuck her behind the bar half of the time and made her wear mumus.

It's called compromise Bob. I'm THAT much of an OUTSTANDING husband that I will gladly watch American Idol, DWTS and other various goodies such as Say Yes to the Dress and that Bride show where they pick out the gowns. I am the epitome of a loving caring nurturing MAN.

Sounds like you need to train your wife to realize that those are all stupid shows that only shallow, vapid women find interesting. Check your yellow pages for a good hypnotist.

LOL. The most that she's "made" me watch has been Bones or Buffy The Vampire Slayer, neither of which I mind.

My sweetie makes me watch hockey and Ax Men. Someone please kill me and make it stop.
ETA: Before we actually lived together and he would say that he was watching "The History Channel" I thought it meant something slightly more intellectual. I was clearly duped.

We will want an update Bob. ;D I know better than to post any future marriage trials and tribulations for the entertainment of you vultures. Besides, won't you have better things to discuss, like the previous night's DWTS episode?

he's also in love with Pawn Stars. One episode is fine, but he'll turn on On Demand and watch like 4 in a row. SIGH....

I leave the room once hockey is on. There's no point in sticking around. I think I could be blowing him and he wouldn't notice. Ax Men I stay in the room and heckle.
Beer, he watches other stuff on History too, you're right - it doesn't really get any better.

I've always had a thing for African American Women.......SUE ME Kirsty is just gross looking, even on star trek. And Bob I'd much rather watch say yes to the dress than bones or buffy.

LOL Jenny! He watches those depressing war documentaries and crap too. I ask him what he finds appealing about all this killing. He says "it's history!" Yeah, so is our sex life, pal.
