Why be pedantic? Russia and the UK have nuclear weapons ...we are also part of NATO No-one s going to escalate this in to a nuclear war anytime soon....it would be suicide. Do you really think Russia should be allowed carte blanche to attack with nerve agents in our Country What if they did it in the US? Don't you think that the government would be furious? Under our current POTUS I am sure he would say something but probably question his intelligence agencies as he has in the past till finally the evidence is absolute...and then still would expect his reaction muted...low key... Dose Putin have something on him..? Who knows but it sure seems there is something there that he doesn't want American public to know..IMHO of course

You could be right.
I'm not sure what closing the Russian consulate in Seattle has to do with with the UK
Its in solidarity with us...apparently.
Looks like the Russians have been meddling in a lot of places .... and this is a group response to say, "we are not going to put up with this"

RT just put this out in defense of Russia: The substance used on Sergei Skripal was an agent called BZ, according to Swiss state Spiez lab, the Russian foreign minister said. The toxin was never produced in Russia, but was in service in the US, UK, and other NATO states.
Sergei Skripal, a former Russian double agent, and his daughter Yulia were poisoned with an incapacitating toxin known as 3-Quinuclidinyl benzilate or BZ, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, citing the results of the examination conducted by a Swiss chemical lab that worked with the samples that London handed over to the Organisation for the Prohibition of the Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
The Swiss center sent the results to the OPCW. However, the UN chemical watchdog limited itself only to confirming the formula of the substance used to poison the Skripals in its final report without mentioning anything about the other facts presented in the Swiss document, the Russian foreign minister added. He went on to say that Moscow would ask the OPCW about its decision to not include any other information provided by the Swiss in its report.
Lavrov said that the Swiss center that assessed the samples is actually the Spiez Laboratory. This facility is a Swiss state research center controlled by the Swiss Federal Office for Civil Protection and, ultimately, by the country’s defense minister. The lab is also an internationally recognized center of excellence in the field of the nuclear, biological, and chemical protection and is one of the five centers permanently authorized by the OPCW. Just an FYI for those taking an interest in the case.

Or they have been got at .... Have you seen the Russian trolls on their twitter feed? They are all over RT as well. Obfuscation ...but we will get to the truth.

...but we will get to the truth. I don't share your optimism. Each of us will have to make a judgment call based on inscrutable, conflicting, and generally insufficient data. It will ultimately be based on who we trust.

So it looks like the Russian minister jumped the gun and got burned for it. Both articles now say the OPCW can't confirm the origin of the toxin. Meaning your PM also jumped the gun. Do you really have to ask why I'm skeptical we'll ever arrive at the truth?

The OPCWs only remit is to identify the toxin .... Where it came from is the job of the Police to link the science with intelligence. Our Intelligence says it came from the Shikhany labs in Southern Russia. Unfortunately those labs have just been demolished ahead of a visit by the OPCW www.express.co.uk/news/world/952785/russia-news-novichok-centre-demolished-salisbury-spy-poison. A cover-up perhaps? Russia still hasn't admitted anything but its gone very quiet. Is this the end of the incident? Has an agreement been reached? Who Knows

Who Knows The story seems to originate in the UK Daily Mail, citing the mayor of Shikhany. What the UKDM article fails to mention is that the demolition has been underway since early 2017, which is a critical detail, wouldn't you say? Have you been keeping up to date on Douma?

I didn't cite the Mail because its a bit of a rag ........ but the lab where we think it was made has now gone ahead of an official visit .... bit of a convenient coincidence don't you think?
Yes ... Re Douma..... The scientists were prevented from going in for two weeks ...during which Chlorine could have evaporated ... (since essentially its a gas) Best option to find cause of death is to autopsy ... (and don't know if any have been done)
Though they did find Sarin from Syrian autopsies last year.
I think its irrefutable that toxins have been used in attacks ....... exactly how much is less clear.

Unlikely... since neither side appear to want that to happen.
As an aside, you keep defending Russia..... but presumably you know that Russia is claiming most of the Arctic .... (because of its mineral wealth) Even the large segment that should belong to Canada.
