Quote; It turns out you can put a price on values.
After Delta Air Lines announced it would end a travel discount for National Rifle Association members, Republican lawmakers in Georgia followed through on their threat to punish the company by repealing a budget provision on Thursday that included a $50 million airline fuel tax exemption, in which $40 million was set for the Atlanta-based airline.
But only 13 NRA members actually used the one-time group travel discount for the gun group’s annual meeting in Dallas this May, Delta spokesman Michael Thomas told The Washington Post on Saturday.

You can put a price on stupidity too. How much will this cost Georgia when businesses (including maybe Delta) relocate or decline to come to Georgia? How big of an economic impact did North Carolina face before they rescinded the bathroom bill? Hundreds of millions in lost business? Billions? Bigotry and stupidity have a cost. And they should.

Ridiculously stupid, biting the hand that feeds so many Georgia constituents is going to come back to haunt Georgia representatives in the next election

I often think about Jack Semple in his suit, chasing down Katherine Switzer and trying to physically rip her from the Boston Marathon. He went down in history as such a fool, and a jerk. I always try and envision what the story will be in 10 or 30 years, and try to say and do things that won't embarrass me.

FWIW it was Jock Semple, but thanks for mentioning this as I had to look it up and learned something.

I live in Ga.! From what I've seen in our local newspaper's rant/rave column...Cagle has lost some votes.
And the tax wasn't repealed, it was just removed from a bill that included other items...current governor, Deal, had pushed for the tax credit for them. Delta is not leaving Atlanta, they just signed a 20 yr. lease plus they have invested a lot in up-grades at Hartsfield. They are also now looking at all discount programs & will discontinue any others that are connected with politics in any way.
I wouldn't have voted for Cagle anyway, but I will likely request a GOP ballot in the primaries so I can vote for another GOP person running....he has several at this point opposing him in the primary.
