I signed up for a subscription of moviepass that allows one theater movie a day. I paid the one year subscription price. Our theater in town accepts this. With the sign up fee it works out to $9.95 per month. Subtracting the sign up fee, it's $7.95.
The movie choice has to be picked on the phone app and then check in with a moviepass card. Location has to be turned on on your cellphone before getting to the theater so they know who you are. The moviepass cannot be used by another user.
I hope it works.

OK, You got me.....one more advantage to folks living in an area that has a population......(except for the three months out of each year we get to go downtown to watch paint dry....for free....)

Let me clarify...yes, we have a movie theater in town....but no multiplex.....a pass would allow one to watch the same movie over and over for seven days......

You can't watch the same movie twice with the pass unfortunately You could buy it 3 months of the year, currently the rule is if you stop you can't do it again for 9 months, but then if you only need 3 a year... but I've heard this keeps changing. I think they are trying to find a model that might work? I'll play as long as its beneficial.

Sounds very worthwhile... as long as there are many options of different cinemas that accept the pass in the area.
Even at $9.95 a month, if you only go to ONE movie each month, you've basically covered the costs. Last movie I went to was $10.00 per ticket.

This sounds like one of those deals that is great, until it gets popular, and then they have to raise the price. Enjoy it!!

Actually it used to be more expensive. They just lowered prices hoping i'm sure to go for increased volume. So... as I said, we'll see what happens.

Sounds like a great deal! I wish I knew about this before I had babies. I've only been to one movie in the last 2 years.

I think they are trying to find a model that might work? I'll play as long as its beneficial. Strike out, because, yes, you can watch the same movie as many times as you want (not sure when they changed that rule, but I got my pass in December and made sure, since we only have one movie theater in town). I got my pass through Costco, so I got 12 months for $90. I've seen about 10 movies so far (one twice), and would have seen more, but worked more night shifts than usual. I'll probably see quite a few this week and next since there is only one day I'll be working. No issues with it so far. I pull into the parking lot, turn on the location on my phone, select the movie/time I want, go in and get the ticket, and turn off location again. I've used it at my local theater and once in a larger city. I'm at an average of $9/movie, but have 10 more months to bring that average price down quite a bit.

Our theater plays a few movies at a time, but sometimes they will play for so long that I will end up watching it more than once. If it's a good movie, I don't mind, I plan to get all the use of the card that I can. I saw Jumanji twice, and would have seen the 3 Billboards movie twice, but I ended up missing it because I was helping my parents. They have new movies this week, but one looks like it will be good enough that I may end up seeing it a couple times.

I'll be interested to see if they add a family plan.

Looks like it was an old rule, they removed in in August 2017.

We only have one chain here now and they do not accept Movie Pass.
The mall pulled the rug out from under the other theater complex by increasing their rent. We shall see if the new theater accepts Movie Pass.
