Well, I had a black eye once too. How did I get it? I was strapping my 2 year old in his stroller and he was fighting me, having a temper tantrum. He kicked me in the eye. I was very embarrassed b.c. I thought everyone would think my husband hit me.

Very few people would lie about something like this. There are apparently 3 people accusing Rob Porter of Domestic Violence. What are the odds?

If you have kids with someone, don’t you want them working so you can collect child support? Dosn’t he have kids with one of the ex’s?

I think telling lies is something you need to be willing to do, to be a part of the Trump Administration.

There are several very good reasons why EXs are often EXs: one is spousal abuse.

Why would he feel the need to talk to anyone?  He has been saying things like this the whole time and it hasn't mattered.  He has found that as long as he gives his base cover by denying things, that is all they need.  It doesn't have to be believable or logical.  He just has to deny or have whoever is involved deny it.  His supporters don't care that the denial is a lie.  They will hide behind the denial, pretending they believe it.

The saddest part in all of this is how many of my friends didn't believe me and thought I was only doing it for attention. I have very few friends I trust anymore....after going through something like that only to find that everyone thinks your a liar, well, it causes one to have trust issues....

Your post reminds me why I don't talk about it anymore.  Some people will just never believe the woman.

Am sorry Hurly....glad u are out of there...I have a ex too...when able to travel would meet up with her at Daughters in Concord , Mass for Thanksgiving...we got along fine...even would send her a Happy New Year card by internet ...occasionally...LOL...

No never got physical with each other...once if I remember correctly close over who knows what...lots of $#*& at each other ...she more then I....

To answer your questions. Yes I did see it in his personality when we were dating, because he had just returned from two tours in the middle east and was suffering from severe PTSD. I was hoping to help him through his struggles....guess that means I deserve it. Yes he drank, people drink. It only got worse after we were married. I met him in high school, at 16 years old. We married at 33 years old. I knew this man like I know myself. I never thought he would get so bad as to beat me, but he refused to get help for his PTSD and instead dove deep into addictions including drugs, alcohol and sex.  Also, I have been through no idiots.  My ex was not an idiot.  He is a troubled person who refuses to get help and its turned him into an asshole that no one recognizes anymore.  I don't know what else to say about it.  He's not the person I knew at 16, he's someone else now.

By the time I called it quits for my own safety (and due to infidelity, which gave me an easy way out), pretty much everyone else, including his own family had abandoned him.  I didn't want to be another one of those people, but I had no choice. 

I look at myself everyday in the mirror and I wouldn't change anything about what I did or didn't do.  If you want to put the blame on me fine, but don't you dare judge until you have been there!

Mine didn't drink or do drugs until near the end. It was more than a year before the first slap and the next 4-5 years was only one more slap and a push but dozens of threats if I didn't act the way he wanted. After that I told him I would leave if even threatened, wasn't going to live in fear so he quit. Then he started drinking after 16 years and got violent again so I left.
