www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2018/02/05/police-robert-wagners-story-doesnt-add-up-new-witnesses-have-come-forward.htmlWood died in 1981 at age 43 from a mysterious drowning. Corina said her death is "suspicious." New witnesses came forward following a 2011 press conference about the case. Those witnesses, he said, helped create "a more articulate timeline" from the time when Wood died. "More than 100 people came forward," said Corina. "We ended up identifying witnesses that had never come forward in telling their story to recreate some of the timeline on what happened that weekend." Corina added, “There’s actually more than one witness who came forward who heard them on the back of the boat arguing. It was really intense and it was so bad, [Captain Dennis Davern] went down to check on them because he was worried that there was some kind of an assault. That's when he was told to go away by Robert Wagner…. Before it goes quiet." I never thought the story made sense at the time of her death. I think Robert Wagner killed her and he will probably die without being charged for her murder.

It always was a he said, she said, he wouldn’t talk and she obviously couldn’t. I don’t see how any prosecutor could have won the case when there wasn’t any physical proof tied to him and the story of her being drunk and on painkillers leading to a possible slip and drown would have caused plenty of reasonable doubt in a jury.
Those are just the facts as I know them as applied to a charge and trial, obviously a lot of people are going to think he did it with the known circumstances.

Wasn't Christopher Walken on the boat too? Wonder how many people were actually on the boat that could turn up 30 years later as witnesses and why they weren't interviewed then or did they just jump overboard and police didn't know they were there? I know the captain was there. Just wondering out loud

I've never been satisfied with the "explanation" that was given then. Glad they reopened the case. If someone WAS, in fact, responsible, I'd want to see justice done.

They were drunk on a boat, had a fight and Wood ended up in the water. I really believe Wagner did it, murder or manslaughter. But this was 37 years ago, there is no physical evidence, and relying on "new" eyewitnesses. I really don't think we will ever find out what really happened. If they couldn't convict OJ, they won't get Wagner.

I don't know that anything at this point can be proven, which is sad for poor Natalie. I suppose it's possible she got drunk, staggered around and fell off the boat and drowned - possible but not as likely as an angry drunken Woods shoving her over.

I've seen so many drunken boat deaths that I've lost count. We even had one recently in my area where a drunken boater was arrested by an officer and was being transported to shore. He fell off the patrol boat and drowned. No agenda for me on this story (OP). Drunken boating deaths are common. Quote; The report states alcohol use was the leading contributing factor in fatal boating accidents; it was listed as the leading factor in 17 percent of the deaths.commanderbob.com/cbstats.html

The news must be slow to bring up a 43 y.o. death.

Well, what's new is there might be some new witnesses.
Wood was a very popular actress, there were a lot of rumors surrounding her death and a lot of people though Wagner got away with murder, so it's one of those murders that keep resurfacing from time to time.
Same with the Black Dahlia murder and Jack the Ripper. It's unsatisfying not to have a conclusion, especially when someone is alive who might be the murderer.

In these type situations, there is always a part of me that wonders if it is really a worthwhile use of taxpayer money.
