So my wife looked at this "Fabletics" website for exercise clothes, but you have to "join" for a monthly membership fee. I think "adore me" does the same things with chicks bras & underwear. I guess I don't see this model being successful, because it totally turned my wife off from buying anything since she had to "join".
But I guess people actually buy monthly memberships?

But you will "belong" if you just join us! Don't you want to "belong"? Kate will be so disappointed if you don't join with her.

Yeah I've looked at that before and had a similar reaction. I prefer not to go to any website that males you register and sign-in to browse let alone one that makes you pay a fee. Danskin at Walmart suits me just fine.

I wouldn't pay a fee. My PT job is at a sporting goods store, so I just get my stuff from there. Especially when it's on clearance.

Dealbreaker here, too. First of all, I won't buy clothes made in China so I won't buy unless I can read the labels or the site shows the actual country of origin, which is rare. Memberships are a two-edged sword. They may encourage loyalty (see Amazon Prime) but you have to convince enough people to sign up to make it profitable.
Second: "athletic wear"? I have 4 pairs of shorts I wear regularly (2 each of 2 designs), a huge number of freebie T-shirts from corporate and athletic events, 2 pair of sweatpants from a thrift store and one pair that I wore when I was pregnant with my now 33-year old son. Drawstring waist, so very forgiving.
I save my clothing $$ for pretty stuff to put on my great body when I'm out in public. I don't care what I look like in the gym.

Back in my serious outdoor active days, I bought my active wear at REI and my teaching job wear at Goodwill. Top of the line rain gear is a priority in Western Washington.

At the risk of TMI,
I've considered adore me. My size is not readily available in most stores. There's one boutique store in my city that has quite a nice selection of items..but the price tag is rather high. I dropped over 150 on two nighties...
If the clothes fit. it would be a nice time and money $$ saver as well.
Sometimes, it's nice to wear something other than Hanes cotton undies from Target, even if it the best option from a time/ money perspective.

Ah, if we're talking underwear, yes, I always go for "pretty" and I'm 65! Fortunately I can usually find what I want at outlet stores although the bra selection in my size (hey, the French say the ideal breast size fits in a Champagne glass) is sometimes sparse.

I saw some ads over the weekend "get your first pair for $19.99", but I'm sure you would have had to join for a time. No thanks!

From what I've seen, it's not a lifetime commitment. I can see some value in joining. If they've got sizes and styles that work for you, why not? Plenty of people don't have the time or desire to spend hours shopping.

I had my daughter signed up for Ellie . com for a while, which is an activewear subscription service. The way that one works is you choose between a 3 piece package (top, bottom, sports bra) for $39.95/month or the 5 pc package (top, bottom, sports bra, two fitness accessories) for $49.95/mo). You can also sign up by the month, quarter, or year. I signed up for the 5 pc, quarterly package because I had a coupon to get a month free, and it made it around $30/package, which is a good price for what you get. You don't get to choose the items, it is a different set each month, but you can skip any month, and they also have discounted pieces you can also buy. Once my first quarter was done, I canceled it, because $50 is too much for me to spend, lol.

I couldn't justify that, either, especially the sports bras. I have two, which I use only for 35-mile charity bike rides and the occasional sprint triathlon (under my swimsuit so I have some support on the bike ride and the 5K). No need for more than that.

We joined dollar shave club last year. We love it! It's one of the best razors we've ever owned. I like not having to hoard blades and try to figure out how to sharpen them because we don't want to shell out $26 for a pack of four. We tried going to disposable but they don't work for DH and I don't like the waste.
I'm going to stop it here soon because we got a good stockpile going. I can sign up again when we get thru what we have.

Women's clothes are expensive enough without having to pay a monthly membership fee to shop.

Went to bimonthly and have skipped a couple of shipments in a row. DD and I use them, the guys have gotten lazy and stopped shaving, so we got them a beard trimmer. I don't find them all that much better than other razors but the price is pretty good.

It's a nice cheap item to move around to make sure I get the 15% every month. DH does Dollar Shave and he is happy with them though.

Lol swamp. There is an older style of champagne glass that looks more like a shallow margarita glass than the champagne flute I assume you're thinking of. You see them used more as dessert glasses now, I think.

I'm jealous. I have quite a few sports bras. I read different reviews to find the most supportive sports bras. I don't like running because 1) I just don't like it, and 2) even with a pretty good sports bra my boobs start to hurt from bouncing. I wear a sports bra to do almost all workouts, and even if I am going to be working a lot in my garden. However, I expect that the sportsbra's that come with those subscriptions are pretty. Unfortunately, pretty and sturdy/supportive don't seem to go together much. I expect some of those services are for those people that wear that stuff all the time - even when they aren't at the gym.
