Completely random, but the Designated Survivor last night, Sonny Perdue, is the only Republican I've ever voted for for Gov'n.

CNN Instant poll: Trump gets least positive reaction in at least 20 yearsWashington (CNN)Almost half of Americans who watched President Donald Trump's first State of the Union address -- 48% -- say they had a "very positive" impression of the speech, down from 57% of speech-watchers after his first address to match Barack Obama's rating after his first State of the Union address, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS. It's the lowest net positive rating for a State of the Union address since at least 1998, when CNN first asked the question. There is no equivalent poll for addresses before 1998. linkas everyone here loves to point out- talk is cheap. i don't even listen to SOTU speeches any more. the last one i listened to was 2003, where Bush stood there and lied to me about Iraq. that was enough. SOTU speeches just mean the president has a good speech writer and can read off a teleprompter.
If he had an overall positive response, it was probably because Bannon didn't write it - Bannon did the whole 'life is bleak and hopeless' inauguration speech that went over like a lead balloon.

I could make a comment that this means he has Parkinson's and had three months to live, but that would not only be mean, it would be total random speculation, and that would be irresponsible, so I'll just comment that he drinks water like a dork.

it is more likely his teeny carpals and metacarpals that cause that problem.

No, I have sources that tell me he has end stage ALS, erectile dysfunction, gout, and excessive flatulence. The end is near. Don't doubt me. I'm very informed.

The most likely answer is essential tremor but I'm afraid that's not very exciting. It's inherited, chronic and progressive but not fatal.

This thread is too academic for my tastes. mmhmm's most recent post was good/informative.

And I'm sure the "polls" were of people who happened to watch the thing. I know a LOT of people who had other things to do...so the polls don't show a thing other than the majority of HIS BASE liked it.! I'd like to see a poll of how many watched it. Here u go.... Seems Obama beat him a bit..48 million...and Bush killed them both...52 mllion, poor Donald was 45.6 million....think he learned his lesson on the inauguration flare up... deadline.com/2018/01/state-of-the-union-tv-ratings-donald-trump-barack-obama-1202274787/Well it looks like the fiasco of the size of the crowd attending his inauguration vs Obamas wasn't a lesson for our Donald...he's back to it again...just heard on CNN, am sure a link will be available shortly...he is claiming his State of the union had biggest listening, tuning in audience then any other State of the Union...so easily disputed...not really important except u see what kind of faulty person the nation elected to be our leader...a lier....probably one of historys largest as far as world leaders are concerned.

Nice to see the fired former FBI director speaking out on our Donald, his impressions of the man and actual doings with the Donald...not hearsay...Man had actual probably daily contact with him before being fired. For those who blame him for Hillerys loss, I'm over it...will accept his explanation and admit that Hillery should shoulder most of the blame herself..Bill did offer suggestions were it was going wrong...her campaign and she didn't want to listen to him...[sad] thus we have what we have,,,[sheesh] Back to Comey...he was a very good member of the FBI..appointed I believe by a Republican but served under Obama...is standing up to our Donalds witch hunt...reminding us that things change, despots are not honored in our country, few schools or streets named after former Senator Joe McCarthy...and gives us a look into the real Donald Trump that few have seen.. ----------------------------------------------- "On Twitter, Comey urged his former colleagues to "take heart: American history shows that, in the long run, weasels and liars never hold the field, so long as good people stand up." He concluded, "Not a lot of schools or streets named for Joe McCarthy" — a reference to the senator who, in the 1950s, conducted hearings aimed at rooting out Communists in the U.S. government." "He also authorized a close friend to share with reporters details from a memo he produced documenting one such encounter — a February conversation in the Oval Office in which he said Trump encouraged him to drop an FBI investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn. That revelation promoted the Justice Department's appointment of a special counsel to run the Russia investigation." ---------------------------------------------------- Thus this investigation of Russian interference / any collusion of Trump or associates of his...was all brought on because of the Donalds own attempt to meddle in a agency he had no business meddling in , trying to influence...[tsk, tsk.. ."Bad Donald , Naughty Donald.."=============================== www.courant.com/nation-world/ct-comey-fbi-take-heart-20180201-story.html

One thing I found amusing about his speech, and I kept waiting for commentators to bring it up but didn't. He spent a large portion of the speech railing against illegal immigration, refugees and suggesting we clamp off legal immigration. And then told the story of the North Korean guy who got his leg amputated after getting run over by a train, so he escaped to China and isn't that wondefful?! So, refugees escaping to not-USA is great? Or refugees from North Korea are clearly tortured and should escape, but anyone from any of the other shithole countries are clearly wussies who need to stay home?

I'm also still confused on how $8,874,640,000,000 is more than $10,699,805,000,000.
But I don't really care that much.

Narcissists lie. They are 100% aware they are lying, but don't care. They are 100% aware they are being rude to you and saying things that are intentionally insulting. They believe they are better than everyone else and the laws of "other people" don't apply to them. This is at the heart of the problem with Trump. He won't EVER improve on this, he lies intentionally. I had a "relationship" with one of his kind - until I figured out that nearly everything that ever came out of his mouth - important or not - was a lie. For example, he told everyone he had emergency open heart surgery and was saved by a doctor friend hours before death. Funny, he had no scaring on his chest and when I met this doctor and asked what his specialty was, I was pretty shocked to find him a GI doc, not a cardiothoracic surgeon. When confronted, the narc just shrugged it off and changed the topic of conversation. Narcs claim they are the most moral and religious people around, but it's part of the disorder and they don't understand morality like you and I do. They pretend to feel and care, but at their heart, they are unable to do so and are ALWAYS out for just themselves. And, that lack of morality and empathy for other people (even their own family) makes Trump a clear and present danger to our country and world standing. blogs.psychcentral.com/narcissism/2017/07/narcissists-and-pathological-lying/

I watched part of it. I expect that in October we'll see lots of RNC ads showing Democrats sitting when Trump honored parents of children murdered by illegal immigrants. He was clearly trying to make Democrats look bad when they wouldn't stand. People tweeting "Tiny Tim" at the North Korean defector doesn't help the image of the resistance. You know, I have a real problem with what Trump did, he is maligning an entire group of people for the actions of a few from that group. Those actions were not representative of the entire group. I am offended. I would not stand either.

I was waiting for someone to yell "you lie" during the SOTU. I guess the Democratic Party has better manners. (But, we heard plenty of fibbing during this week's speech.)
