Too bad it's not like one of those reality shows where after they both speak the audience gets to phone in a vote for the one they want to stay and the one they want to kick off the island.

Well, the GOP does have the Bush family. Frankly, I've been reading up on this young Kennedy kid, & he sounds pretty good. He'll be interesting to watch in the next 10 years, or maybe less.

Two Kennedy's lost their life for USA, President Kennedy and Robert Kennedy United States Senator. May both Go Well. And Joseph P. Kennedy III, is a politician, not like what you got now.

It will be better than that super weirdo they had do it last year. He was terrible. His rebuttal made absolutely zero sense.

Along with the Bushes and the Clintons. It's not a dynasty to be passed down. I didn't know anything about Robert but my father worshipped John. Probably because he screwed anything in a skirt.

Good people don't seem to run. Unless they're able to bury every bit of scandal attached to their past. Plus, have plenty of money.

Oh no, not another Kennedy. Yep.....grant u there were pubs who celebrated the two assassinations but the country has been better off for the three Kennedys who have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country plus the one who lived such a long life and was so affective, both for liberal causes and the ability to cross the aisle and be super effective..boy how we miss Teddy now...so I am looking forward to his rebuttal of the Donald..normally after the "SOTU" I retire to the boys room...think will hold off this time...

I don't think the jobs are passed down, but so many people go into similar jobs as their parents. You know those families that have 4 doctors and 3 nurses vs those families have 5 engineers and 3 accountants. Many people have generation after generation of teachers, or coal miners or military, or whatever. If you grew up that held elected office, it feel normal to grow up and go into an elected position. I think it is just more about what your lifelong reality is than some feeling that you are "owed" a position.

They either had accomplishments or did not...In looking back it seems these famous ones mentioned had many , many accomplishments......

Another family that thinks they should be entitled to political office because of their name. Should we review the history, since it sounds a lot more like a family that felt the responsibility to serve. The four brothers: Joseph P. "Joe" Kennedy Jr. - Groomed for future office, he left Harvard Law and enlisted in the Naval Reserve, became an aviator, flew enough missions to come home, but volunteered for another on which he was killed in action. John F. Kennedy - Like his brother a Lieutenant in the Navy during WWII. Served in both the House and Senate before becoming President. Assassinated in office. Robert F. "Bobby" Kennedy - Also served in the Naval Reserve (on the ship named for his eldest brother.) Served as Attorney General and Senator. Was a leading candidate for presidential nomination when he was assassinated. Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy - Enlisted in the Army before returning to and graduating from Harvard like his brothers. Served 47 years as Senator from Massachusetts, one of the most influential of the last fifty years. They have been a very wealthy family for over a century. Joseph Sr. was a very successful businessman and investor, following his father. Did the brothers really need to serve in WWII, and in Joe Jr.'s case to die during a volunteer mission? That legacy has been handed down to each generation. Some may be immature while young, but nobody escapes the legacy of those brothers. Is it better to have someone like Trump, who ruined many businesses while declaring bankruptcy multiple times? Whose idea of "serving" was to obtain several deferments, and who compared the danger of sex to serving in Vietnam? Whose life is dedicated to enriching himself at the expense of anyone he can either cheat or exploit? Up to you, but I would choose the family of service rather than the sultan of self.

Well done, well told Tall..... As a aside..Joe jr. volunteered to fly a bomb/explosive laden bomber that was going to be a drone plane , controlled by another plane. ..Once in the air..he was suppose to bail out and let plane be controlled by the control plane , to be dived into submarine pens in France.. [bombs were not having any affect..thick concrete..pens are still there..too massive to be removed] before Joe could bail out...plane exploded with Joe Kennedy still on board..This was 1945 war basically almost won.
