the Donald and Schumer...as reported by ABC. ------------------------------------------- "During the hours leading up to the government shutdown, President Donald Trump invited Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., to the White House to negotiate the outline of a deal, which both sides believed was in reach. After several more conversations during the day, the deal fell apart and the Senate failed to pass a measure to keep the government funded." ================================= to read complete article click on link above... ------------------------------ abcnews.go.com/Politics/inside-trump-schumer-talks-leading-government-shutdown/story?id=52484599

i noticed two things there:
first: it appears that T&S had a deal, but then Trump kept hearing false rumors and couldn't turn them off. that caused a lot of distraction that costed time. it also appears that Trump told Schumer to deal with McConnell and McConnell told Schumer to deal with Trump. so, there was no coordination between McConnell and Trump.
it is not hard to fault Trump for most of this.

Agree...man is the POTUS.. a lot of clout there...only one at a time...That we have one now who really isn't up to the job and will probably be there for at least three more years is a hell of a cross to bear IMHO.[SAD]

i heard that quote, but it doesn't sound like "negotiating" is really the issue.
it is something akin to ADHD.
i really like the report above. it shows just how impossible it is for Trump to do this job.
yeah, i said impossible. i really don't think he can do it. if i were his boss, i would fire him.

Schumer really knows how to needle Trump.
Went after his 'I'm the greatest deal maker ever' by saying Trump sucked at negotiating this deal.
And apparently Trump hates it when people say he is heavily influenced by his staff and outside forces, so Schumer further stuck the needle in by claiming that he had reached a deal with Trump - until Trump talked to his staff and listened to conservative media, which made him do a 180 flip.
I think Trump's exwife was right, Trump keeps getting all this 'advice' from all sides and he's either so inexperienced in the job or has such a severe case of ADHD that he can't pick a position and stick with it. Flip flops like a terrier having seizures.
