I really don't get why the OP believes the media is out to destroy Trump instead of just report on him. I feel like I am in an alternate reality where some posters would be cheering on any despot whether it was Putin or others simply because they were implementing some of the things they wanted.

You, me, or anyone else not directly involved know there is nothing "there" until the investigation is completed and the finding officially announced.

Its too early VB. Did you say this when Nixon was being investigated? Neither you or I know what's there because we aren't privy to what the investigation knows. What you want to be true and what is true probably does not match. I know Trump is an extremely crooked individual. US banks haven't wanted to touch him for years. That should make you worry, not double down.

To be honest, I do not think the majority of the population worried about Watergate in the first year into the investigation. It is so long ago, and we did not have the internet to feed us all the fake news.
With Trump, he was branded guilty by the entire Democratic party and it's followers before he took the oath of office.
If memory serves me, and I could be wrong, CBS and the Washington Post were on it from day one, and they were correct back then.
Hadn't we already just lost the VP to illegal activities that occurred before he took the VP office back then?
I do not remember the national outrage at the time over him.

You are mostly correct. Trump is an extremely crooked man. There was evidence and proof of it long before he ran. So yes, I and others did not want him anywhere near the Presidency because of it and his character flaws. Much like some people hate Hillary and what has gone before.

The tough thing for me to watch is that many evangelicals really told themselves that God sent Trump to them to save them. Forgetting that in their belief system, it is far more likely that Satan did. They've sold their souls to the anti-Christ really believing that the end can justify the means while weekly showing up at services discussing the dangers of Satan. It amazes me the lack of self awareness these folks have. Simply because they wanted Trump to be the Savior, they were unwilling to see he would sell them their own moral destruction by giving them some things they wanted while he got even more stuff he wanted.

I think the GOP would have put more checks on Cruz than they are on Trump. Most of them have folded like a house of cards before him and have shown they care more about power than any ideals or beliefs in public service.
Paul Ryan cares only for power and it is another sad thing to learn. This is the nightmare I was trying to prevent, but too many people apparently wanted it, so here we are. I don't think anything useful will come from Omarosa. The important stuff like bank dealings, etc. will unlikely be something Trump discusses with only family and crooked bankers, politicians.

The Watergate thing was ignored for a long time because most people had the idea that breaking and entering an opponent's office was pretty much 'boys will be boys' standard dirty tricks for politics. People assumed (probably correctly) that the dems did the same kind of thing.

Where Nixon messed up was the cover up attempt, and specifically when he fired Archibald Cox. Nixon admitted later he had no idea the backlash against firing Cox would be so intense and so bipartisan.

Which is something Trump needs to keep in mind. He may get mad and want to start firing people, but that would most likely backfire on him, just like it did Nixon.

I think some people mix up the media reporting the news with the shows on opinions. When the media replays what Trump says it's fake news to him. No it's what you said. Sure opinions will be attacking you, like your ineptness to lead.

Sorry "OPT"...not cheering it on but wouldn't shed tears if negatives on our Donald came to light that incriminated him...Man is not a nice guy...feels the world owes him something and if any negatives come to light..man brought them on himself...Has made the office he holds into a laughing stock...world wide...our enemies are rejoicing in it and we do have enemies...

How do u know that about the Donald...? You may be correct...then again... till Mueller's investigation is finished we won't know correct or are u going along with his claim...the Donald says there is no collusion so that is it?

The investigation has found some individuals in wrong doing...some have confessed as guilty...investigators seem to have good credentials...definitely Mueller's credentials seem to be high...even the Donald has said good things about him..of course that might change knowing our Donald , but for now he seems on board with the whole thing , just would like it finished. Understandable.
