I would want the guy who SAW someone break into my home to have some breathing room to report it and testify without threat of deportation. That is what sanctuary offers. Should all criminals get sanctuary or do you only want that for illegals? I'm sure there are lots of people wanted by the police that won't testify against someone else in an unrelated case for fear that they will get thrown in jail. Should they get a pass, too? A crime can be jaywalking. It doesn’t interfere with anyone’s life or threatens that life. I equate jaywalking with entering US illegally in hopes for a better life, in hopes that this is a place where people can have a decent night sleep without having to think about surviving the terrors of tomorrow. Now, becoming violent, stealing to support drug/alcohol/gambling habits, murder and the likes THOSE are serious crimes and should be punished to full extent regardless of who you are.

Following your logic, if a homeless person breaks into your house and takes over, would you be ok with that? They only want a safe place to live without thinking of the terrors of tomorrow

Someone who happens to be undocumented, quietly living, working, and paying taxes in my society is not.

I wouldn’t worry about it. California is full of employers who won’t obey the law anyway so it’s a non issue.
