I will always contend that the Presidency should not be the first elective office held (with the exception of someone like Eisenhower who had run a huge government enterprise).

Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope.
No governmental experience. Granted, she actually is a successful business person, but business skills don't necessarily translate to government skills.
We will end up with a liberal TV star. Not much better than what we do have. Except she really is smart.

If it's between her and The Rock I guess I'd pick Oprah.

See this is what bothered me about Trump winning. Now every 'celebrity' person will think they can run and win. Running a company is not at all like being a president or governor. The skills that make you good at one don't necessarily make you got at the other. If we learn nothing else from the current president, please let it be this. If we get a Kardashian as president I will kill myself.

She's much more then a celebrity. A true self made billionaire, unlike trump. She has real business experience world wide with out being a rich bully. Came up reporting the news and more.

Geez, even my uber liberal friends don’t want her as president. I thought they’d be all over it.

I believe you and SCP said you didn't watch the Golden Globes. Her speech was not political and was moving.

I’d like a nice seasoned politician with government experience thanks.
Dont get me wrong. I’d take Oprah over Trump any day. I think she’d listen to what other people say and has a better understanding of just about anything.
But id rather that not be the choice, thanks.

At this time the only woman that could possibly win the presidency is Elizabeth Warren but she declared that she has no interest in it. Oprah, wouldn't stand much of a chance against a man and wouldn’t make a very good president either. Americans at large are not yet mentally ready to have a woman running the country. With all the noise that has been made about equality we are still biased when it comes to women in positions of power.

I know of a few women who’d be awesome as president. But they’re too smart to run.

What was it she said? They all work for me now. Possibly a small error but that was the gist of it. Umm, i didn't care for that too much.

She'd be no better than Trump. Matter of fact she might be worse. I agree with whoever upthread that said "no more reality stars!" or something like that. How about we get people that know how to govern and are honest? Is that really too much to ask?

Well we have time to figure this out...that is if our Donald doesn't push us into a nuclear problem with N Korea first...that one is still up in the air and we have a full three years plus a bit to see how that one is going to work out.. Nice that we also don't have Iran on the same type of burner at the same time isn't it...? [thanks Obama]

Look into the Dutch American Friendship treaty before you do anything that can't be undone. You can always immigrate to Holland with a 4500 euro investment. I spent a summer there when I was in college and they have amazing street pastries.

At least she's a TRUE self-made billionaire, and didn't get where she is by getting hand-outs from daddy, stealing and stiffing people. Sheer grit and determination. ...and she didn't start a "charitable foundation" so she could steal from it, to pay her legal bills, buy portraits of herself, and sports memorabilia.
Because, Lord knows, if you have billions and buy a football helmet it will break you, and you'll end up eating at soup kitchens. Better you buy it with donations from your phony charity.

Might want to Google "JCPOA flaws" Ohhh... and we can also thank Obama for ISIS... while we are "thanking" him for the "good jobs" he did in the Middle East.

If Oprah wants to be president, let her run for some other public office first. I want to see is she capable of representing her constituents. Electing trump with no previous election and representation background has been a disaster.

Being a decent and ethical person doesn't give someone the skills and experience to be an effective President. It is a good start, but the rest of the package needs to be there too.

If Ms. Winfrey does wind up claiming the US presidency, everyone will wake up on the day after her inauguration to discover a gift basket under their chair.

I believe Iran's program of nuclear weapons development was ended under Obama..diplomacy..negotiations ....the way it's suppose to happen vs the threats of using military might...as far as our Donald claiming they are still working on these weapons..not according to our own and international inspectors.. I know our Donald says they are cheating and violating the agreement...yet we all, including yourself, know he has a problem with speaking the truth...but possible u do have some information showing u are correct on this idea of Iran cheating. Possible a link or two?
