Every. Single. Time. And we wonder why women don't bother to report things or why when they do they are not believed or nothing happens... Inexcusable action - by anyone's definition - happens. Both perpetrator and victim agree on basic facts of incident (rare) and there is even a witness to incident. Public reaction: - Awful! - Lengthy discussion about whether woman really fought back and how she is either lying or didn't fight hard - Expression of impatience that we have to listen to another sexual harassment story and implication that someone is trying to cash in on the story - Continued debate on what the woman did - did she fight, would she fight, what was she wearing Gee, why don't women say anything? Followed soon by discussion of how the issue must not be that bad because nobody is saying anything... Which is why i like to post these types of stories without editorializing my opinion. I want to see where the discussion goes on the story without starting with my thoughts. And EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. it goes as you state. Yeah, I forgot to add: - Discussion of false accusations and how things like this can ruin the lives of men. Because that's the new one that's used to minimize the issue and explain why the woman can't be believed or why (if it's a solid case with witness or other evidence) the punishment for the abuser should be minimal...

I think the last time I wrestled with my dad I was in my early 20s. Which would have made him mid to late 50s. The only time I could win was if I got lucky on a leverage thing, and even then I'm not sure you could call it a win because he was never using all his strength. I'd be flailing around trying to get free and I couldn't.
The idea that she's lying about fighting back because there's no way a guy in his 40s can over power a woman in her 20s if she's fighting back is such a load of bullshit.

It doesn't even have to be a false accusation for the discussion of how it can ruin a mans life starts up.....just look at Brock Turner! 6 months in jail (3 months with good behavior) because the judge said more time would seriously affect his future...

Was your dad trying to bend you over a desk to spank you? Think about the logistics of that position. Think you would have been able to twist around? Even if he had leverage, think you couldn't kick him? Sorry, but if you really want to get out of a bent over position, even if the person putting you into it is stronger than you, you can.

The exception doesn't prove the rule. I have yet to meet a male who agrees with Turner's light punishment, not to mention many think that judge (a Stanford alum) is out of his mind.

Anyone who thinks it’s okay to spank me for any reason is going to never spank another person again.

Are you thinking about this at all logically? At best you are going to be able to kick straight back and not necessarily hard. I'm not you, but I wouldn't be standing directly behind someone if I chose to bend them over a desk to spank them. The person is probably to the right or left, holding down the person with at least one arm, possibly their upper body weight as well, and spanking with the other arm.
Not sure what kicking air would accomplish.

Are you honestly telling me a man can hold you bent over a desk with one arm? Seriously?
And if they're using their body weight to pin you to the desk, they're off-balance, and there is an opportunity for you to roll out and escape.
