We have a temp advisory here now, temps are dropping and snow is expected 5 out of 6 days. Someone just shoot me now, I hate all this shit. Happy New Year! 2017 isn't looking so bad now, is it. Stay safe.

Talked to Daughter in Concord...lots of snow already..think saw estimated temp on Saturday..6 degrees with wind chill to -25 degrees...Now that is getting sick...
Even Florida this AM was chilly...think 40 degrees when looked it up early AM. Charleston SC had 4/5 inches of snow....

My DGS is driving into this mess today...left SW Ga. a bit before noon headed to coastal Va.....where the snow is deeper! It's just now starting to get out of the snow area, so he may have some very bad roads to contend with....hoping he has enough sense to stop for the night & finish his drive tomorrow....I gave him $$ for a motel & told him to USE them. But you know how kids are, us old folks don't know anything...until we do! Before being shipped over seas decades ago, I was at Ft Eustice , VA..for a special course with choppers...they had some inches of snow...myself and some friends...all cold weather Yankees and some Swedes from Wisconsin went down to main area of the base and just watched folks drive through...we told MP's to get out of the road..they did..and it was a trip as no one knew how to drive in that weather...came barreling along..slam on breaks..vehicle's were all over the place..too funny...No , know one was killed....miracle. Fort commanding General banned all traffic but emergency for rest of day...snow gone by next day....

Low tonight of 17. But by next Thursday, daytime temp is supposed to be around 60. Yes!

Went into work because i had an appointment that ended up being canceled. Womp womp. Left at noon to finish out the day at home. The two block walk to the train station is straight up wind tunnel. Damn wind almost pushed me down the subway steps! But on the plus side, the wind blew the snow to only one side of my car!
It's going to be about 40 on Monday. Can't wait!

Many years ago I was watching Good Morning America and they were reporting on a windy snow storm hitting NYC. News video showed a woman walking past a subway entrance/exit stairway when a strong gust of wind blew the woman into a trash can and then the two of them disappeared as they tumbled down the stairway.

We have friends who are driving their college kid to Mississippi from New England this weekend. That will not be a fun drive.

No snow here nor any expected. Though rain this Sunday. The Mississippi state line is a five minute drive for me from home.

Yes the weather has been really brutal here,, Like today I was forced to drive around with my windows down! Either that or resort to the air conditioner. It was so bad I had to shovel tons of sunshine off the sidewalks!

I'm not sure how much snow we got. Maybe about 4 inches? Its going to be brutal cold today through Sunday. Not quite as cold as Canada, but we will have lots of feels like temps like -7 and below. And the low for tomorrow is -3, not -2. Crap.

His Dad has been on the computer looking at all the traffic cams & most of the main roads are clear. His biggest problem will likely be parking in the dorm lot...not sure they have cleared it yet, so he may have to go to a friends house until that is cleared off. I was really relieved that he stopped...didn't want him driving in the dark not knowing what was ahead of him This was the first long drive he has ever done by himself...so Gma was worried.

School was cancelled because of cold today. Windchills are expected to be -35 to -45.
This just sucks.

Hahahahaha! I mean, that's awful, but my paranoia was real! I live in an area that rarely gets extreme weather, but maybe once or twice a year we will get some heavy winds. I work from home on those days now. Last year we had a severe wind storm, and during my 5 block walk to my parking garage from my office, I could barely stay upright, I fell onto the sidewalk twice! I literally had to take cover in a building doorway at one point. Luckily two big guys saw me and helped me get to my car. Now granted, I am a pretty tiny person (just over 5 ft tall), but I was terrified I was going to get blown right into traffic on one of the busiest streets in town.
Heavy wind is no joke for some people! Hope everyone is safe and warm! I'm thinking of all of you while I chill in my 60 degree weather (it is raining though!)

Topsy turvy weather we are all having. Latitude wise, my house is slightly further north than Edmonton, AB. Elevation wise it's at 747 m above sea level. We have rain today. Might have rain tomorrow. Nothing to see here.

I talked with DD in NJ today and she had just 6 inches of snow thus it was a work day for her and SIL. I tried YDS in CT, but he got 12 inches so he may been shoveling snow. Our SIL topped off at 16 inches in NH.

And on the other side of weather extremes: this week they measured the snow level in the Sierra Nevada (where CA gets a lot of its water from during the year) and we are at three (yes you read that right THREE) percent of average... Not looking pretty at all. Whether it is extreme cold, heat, rain (hurricanes), or extreme drought we, as a nation, sure are getting our share the last few years and then some

We have one more full day tomorrow of these extreme cold temps, then it gets "normal" for January again for two weeks. That will take us nearly to the last week of January and I'm so flipping happy over that.
