So I used to wear standard cotton cargo shorts. Last year, I saw these shorts that had a little bit of flex in them and were more like hiking shorts. I bought them and found them so much better than regular shorts, you get a little stretch and they are more comfortable than regular shorts.
I mentioned this to my wife and said I wished they made something like that for mens jeans. She said they probably did because her skinny jeans are basically flex material. I started looking around and found American Eagle flex jeans and now my life is totally transformed. They fit better and are 100x more comfortable than regular jeans. I think this is common knowledge to people, but I was in the dark.
Anything you purchase recently that has had a similar effect?

Swiffer mops. LOVE those things! My dog is constantly shedding, & that thing is GREAT for picking up dog hair. And, gets the hair the broom might have missed.

I eagerly welcome our robot overlords: - Roomba (I still have to vacuum occasionally to get in the corners/tight areas where it can't navigate well, but I run it daily and it keeps everything looking nice and tidy) - iRobot Scooba (I do a thorough mop about once a month, but this keeps things tidy in the interim; you can also run it on a dry cycle and it does a great job of picking up dirt/hair off the hardwood). I'm thinking about the robot litterbox (since that's my least favorite chore), but our cat is pretty skittish and I'm not sure how well she'd tolerate it.

The advent of the 3G and now 4G satellite network.
Made life so much easier, bearable and pleasant.

Deep clean is done once a month by my cleaning lady. DS1 gave me a Roomba for Xmas a few years back and now I don't have to clean at all anymore

My Kitchen Aid mixer. I started to get really good results cooking and baking with it so it made me want to use it more.

This is NOT recent. But it by far has made the biggest difference... microwave oven. That and the internet.
I remember when a not very good TV dinner took 45 mins to warm up. We've come a LONG way!
I like having a cell phone, but I hardly ever use it (except to text). I still prefer my landline.

I'm thinking about the robot litterbox (since that's my least favorite chore), but our cat is pretty skittish and I'm not sure how well she'd tolerate it. An article from last year or so. Consider it a possibility (though unlikely) with a cat too. This Is What Happens When A Roomba Meets A Pile Of Dog Poop At 1:30 AM“So, last week, something pretty tragic happened in our household. It’s taken me until now to wrap my head around it and find the words to describe the horror,” starts the epic tale of a self-cleaning device gone wrong that’s taking the internet by storm this week — because it’s a hilarious shit-show. Pun totally intended. Who doesn’t want a Roomba? It’s a vacuum cleaning robot. It miraculously maneuvers its way over your floors; seamlessly gliding around furniture, into corners, and over area rugs. And it does it relatively silently, which is why most people just let the thing go at night and wake up to cleanliness. Ideal right? Unless you have a pile of fresh, soft dog shit in the middle of your floor. Then, not so ideal. Jesse Newton has a few names for what happens when a Roomba and fresh dog shit collide: “The Pooptastrophe. The poohpocalypse. The pooppening.” Complete article here: This Is What Happens When A Roomba Meets A Pile Of Dog Poop At 1:30 AM

In-the-ear hearing aids. The old style behind the ear ones are a pain in the ear when one wears glasses and a hearing aid. I don't wear contacts anymore so one less thing putting pressure on my ear is good.

My iron chelation medication called Jadenu, the internet and the Human-Plus cd line from The Monroe Institute. These three have saved my life.

the bro-stache app for my iphone Rob, you are on your 3rd attempt for a funny response. Let's just agree that it's not happening and just move on.

When I learned that men's jeans & pants fit me better than women's! I no longer struggle to find pants that fit in the waist & are long enough!

Online shopping. I went over a year without having to step foot into a local store.
Dyson cordless vacuum. I loved the idea of the Roomba, but with this many animals I spent almost as much time cleaning off its brushes and emptying the tiny waste compartment as I did just vacuuming. Plus it kept getting hung up in weird places. Love the Dyson...no cord to mess with, lightweight, easy to use and works really well. Bonus-it's an awesome bug sucker-upper for those that venture down into my line of sight.
iPad Pro/Apple pencil/Evernote/GoodNotes/iPhone/scanner. I love being able to sync info across all of my devices. It was a lifesaver to have all of my reference material handy when I was a student. It's still handy now, and has pretty much eliminated physical paper clutter that I used to hoard because it might be useful someday.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
Dri-Fit fabric
This thing my cleaning lady got me to wash dishes. It's a sponge with a handle on it, and the handle has dishsoap in it. The sponge head is replaceable.

My parents have one and it just seems so loud, so I wouldn't want it running when I'm at home. I probably wouldn't feel comfortable running it if I wasn't home. Evernote is another great one though. I'm not very organized at all, but that is one thing that really has made me appear to be extremely organized.

Medical advances in eye care, especially cataract surgery. I know it's made a huge difference in my life. There was no such surgery in my grandparents time, and people just went blind as they aged. With macular degeneration and very poor eyesight I was unable to see well enough to do many things including drive. Now that I've had the surgery, I see well enough to do most things and can even drive again.
Direct deposit and on-line banking have made life so much easier.

I have a Breville toaster oven convection oven combo. I love that thing. Especially in the summer. It heats up super fast and is so small that it doesn't heat up the whole kitchen. It also turns itself off, so if I have to run and pick up the kids, I can leave it cooking.

Agree. My bank has had online banking for quite awhile, but recently added the feature where I can take a picture of a check to deposit. Life changer.
