Columbus was an asshole, and the idea that he discovered the americas a fiction.

This won't fly.  Take down Columbus' statue and Federal employees will have one less paid holiday.

I'm OK with it. Columbus wasn't a nice guy. MLK had a great speech but also was a womanizer and sometimes asshole. I don't think statues should stay around forever simply because someone put them up once. I'm not big on historical statues so I don't care much if they disappear, get new plaques, or stay if they aren't too offensive to most.

I don't need my historical figures to be perfect, but there really isn't much redeemable at all about Columbus. History books he belongs in but I'm fine with no statue or holiday.
