Would it be worth it to buy one? Does anyone have one?

I had one 20 years ago when I first got married. It was handy. Never had to use the laundromat, and the house I rented had a clothesline. It was on the smaller side, but worked well until I was able to get a full size washer and dryer cheap.
I have a portable dishwasher now and I wish I would have bought it years ago. I have a spot where it fits well and then I move it to the sink when I use it.
If you have a good spot for it to sit when not using it, and it would save money/trips to do laundry, it would probably be worth it.

I had a portable washer/drywr combo when I lived in an apartment. It was similar to the ones used in Europe and other countries. It worked really well and it kept me from having to schlep to the laundrymat. We didn't have a clothesline, so I couldn't hand clothes out to dry.

I had one, and it was very close to being full sized. It was by Whirlpool. Worth every penny to have in your apartment.

I never had one, so I can't comment on performance. But weren't you planning to move in less than a year? If I remember this correctly you might want to consider holding off until after your move. Your next place might have an in-unit W/D or an in building laundry room. Just a thought.

This would be extremely useful if your home comes without W/D and you are trying to keep up with a very active young child. I swear kids can get their clothes dirty just by looking at them.

Zaire, you don't always need to have a washer/dryer hookup either. My apartment didn't and this unit stayed in my kitchen and I hooked ti up to the faucet when I wanted to run it.

Your next place might have an in-unit W/D or an in building laundry room. Just a thought. this is more for the times in-between laundry runs - like when I realized that DS's swim trunks were dirty the day before Sprinkler Day at camp. Also yes, it would save me money and time. I have exactly 2 possible days in the week to do laundry. I leave for work around 8am and don't get home til after 7pm. The complex now has a rule that laundry can only be done between 8am-8pm and that the last drying load has to start by 7pm. As you can imagine, the laundry rooms are pretty crowded on weekends, so I go to a local laundromat. Again, their hours are not conducive to me doing laundry on weekdays/nights. Not to mention it's $10+ spent on laundry day. Also, I used to get away with doing laundry every other week but lately I've been doing it weekly because DS doesn't have a million shirts or pairs of shorts. It would be nice to throw a couple of things in the wash after work a couple of days a week. I have a drying rack, so I could probably get back to doing one big load every other week if I could wash and dry DS's clothes at home.

I'm biased because there is a heck of a lot I'd give up before I'd be without a washing machine (like TV for example), but if you can find a portable washer that you can afford that works reasonably well, it seems like a no-brainer.
I can live without a dryer because I like to hang things to dry anyways, but not having a washing machine when you have kids seems like a special kind of torture.

I don't know anything about the one you posted, but at $100 I think this is a no-brainer. Even if it doesn't eliminate the need to go to the laundromat completely, it looks like it would be really helpful. Especially for those things you realize the night before need to be washed!

A hundred bucks only? GET IT ALREADY! that would be so worth it. Somehow I had a much higher price in my head hence my earlier advice

I'd rather go to the Laundromat, and load 3 washing machines, lights, darks, and whites at the same time and several dryers. Done in 2 hours.

I have stored my washer and dryer for 14 yrs (current apt comes with both), in fear, I'll have to move and the new place won't come with them. I don't do public laundry places or machines. MJ2.0 Now that you've had it for a few days, how do you like it?

So far I've washed nearly all of our dirty clothes from the trip. is a little annoying to have to fill and drain the machine each time you use it (To rinse, you have to do another fill and drain). And since it's small you can only do like 1/3 of a normal load at a time... but I can now do laundry any day of the week without hauling all my stuff to the laundromat and back.... and without having to put normal clothes on. That is a HUGE plus in my book. I will still go to the laundromat for towels and blankets (and some clothes while I'm there), but I'll be back down to every other week (or every 3rd week) instead of every week.

One of my friends lives in Manhattan in an apartment with no laundry facilities. She's got one of these and loves it! She does towels in it, just not many at one time.
It's been a big bonus for her as she's had problems navigating her apartment stairs the past couple of months due to a broken ankle. Fortunately, there are a lot of places that deliver food/groceries/prescriptions, but it's horribly expensive to have laundry picked up and done.
