The stock market rise is a function of central bank purchases. Moves in the market and on CB balance sheets are almost perfectly correlated. Central banks are (supposed to be) organs of governments. Governments are political. Anybody who wants to make money long term in the markets has both eyes on geopolitics.
Plus, the personal finance issues, questions, etc. of the "Your Money" board are--and have always been--the majority driver of post traffic on YMAM.

Rob, I checked my accounts yesterday, and relized I was pretty much making Phil's mythical 11%.
I took the advice of the YM Gurus here and pretty much bought a variety of index funds. There is not a lot to discuss. It just a matter of keep on keeping on.
When the market dives then you all can talk me out of pulling my $$ and hiding them under my mattress. Until then we can talk about what idiot move congress is going to take to spend our tax $$ stupidly.
