Here's something I found. True, you cannot believe everything you read but it's interesting none the less. Does Your Blood Type Reveal Your Personality? According to a Japanese institute that does research on blood types, there are certain personality traits that seem to match up with certain blood types. How do you rate? Type 0 You want to be a leader, and when you see something you want, you keep striving until you achieve your goal. You are a trend-setter, loyal, passionate, and self-confident. Your weaknesses include vanity and jealously and a tendency to be too competitive. Type A You like harmony, peace and organization. You work well with others, and are sensitive, patient and affectionate. Among your weaknesses are stubbornness and an inability to relax. Type B You're a rugged individualist, who's straight forward and like to do things your own way. Creative and flexible, you adapt easily to any situation. But your insistence on being independent can sometimes go too far and become a weakness. Type AB Cool and controlled, you're generally well liked and always put people at ease. You're a natural entertainer who's tactful and fair. But you're standoffish, blunt, and have difficulty making decisions. www.lifeshare.org/facts/bloodtypes.htm

ROFL - my husband is O and I'm A and those descriptions couldn't be more wrong. I am going to wet myself laughing so hard. No one has EVER described me as sensitive, patient or affectionate. I prove over and over that I don't strive towards harmony, peace and organization. Every time it gets quiet around here, I throw a bunch of hand grenades. My husband the trend-setting leader, with an unending desire to achieve a goal. ROFL!

O+ (INTP)
I'm lucky - my mom was 0-, I'm the youngest of 4 kids (the others are all A+) and my mom was about a month shy of her 45 B-Day when I was born... this was back in 1964... I'm mostly 'normal' ;D

I agree, Thyme, those descriptions are almost completely opposite for me, too. I've never been a trend-setter or a leader, or vain or jealous.

I'm Type O and I have no desire to be a leader -- in fact the most stressful horrible 'I want to run away' situations are when I have to the 'leader' or in charge of something... I will avoid leadership at all costs - even if it derails a much sought after goal/plan.

B+ not quite as common, but not rare either.
The B description above fits me perfectly so why change?

I have no idea what my blood type is. Is that unusual to not know? It means you've never donated blood. Naughty, naughty. Actually, I have. But it's been a long time. The last time I went, some jerk YELLED out my weight so that everyone in the "bloodmobile" could hear it and then I stopped donating.

ENFP O+, HCMV- (means I'm a baby donor)
waffle: I don't know how long ago you gave blood, but weight is PHI (protected health information) and HIPPA regulations prevent that information from being shared. If that were to happen today, you could sue the bloodmobile.

We typed our blood in high school biology class. One girl one boy were negative-I still remember how embarassed they were when the biology teacher told them they would have to get married.

A+ Plus I can also donate baby blood. DH is A+, one DD is A+ and the other is O+.
However, no one would ever describe either DH or I as sensitive, patient, etc. We're both tactless PITAs. ;D

"I knew I am A because both my parents are Type A." That isn't necessarily so. If each parent was AO, you could be an O.

I should hit the 100 donation mark this year Congratulations, good job! - and you weigh 100 pounds less than you would have if you had kept those 100 pints. I'm only at 43 pints - I'll have to pick up the pace.

B- At a conservative guess, I've donated blood ~ 10 times total. So far I've donated in 5 different states and want to "collect" the rest.

really!! seriously we are discussing this! There are only four blood types (ignoring Rh factor) and your RACE determines your probability O/A are common in America B is rarer, to get AB you have to have two people of A and B types breed. Since this often results in mixed race children it is also very rare. I can't believe this got to three pages already!
AB+ is a universal receiver-if you have this blood type you can receive anyones blood and not have cross match rxns O-is the universal doner, anyone can receive this type and do ok. BUT if you have this blood type you Can ONLY receive O- blood.
