I thinks Wills and Kate and the kids are cute, and they will make an excellent and modern 21st century royal family, and may in fact be a credit to the country in terms of economic and cultural impact. The rest of them? Meh. You cannot deny Her Majesty's influence on the country. In spite of her ups and downs, particularly in the wake of Diana's death, she is still very popular.
Prince Harry is pretty much doomed to eternal second fiddle in life. I hope he finds a calling and a wife.
Prince Phillip has health issues, and you have to feel for the guy - sentenced to walk behind his wife for their entire marriage. I realize it was his choice to wed her, but for a guy as outspoken as he is, it probably has not been easy.
Princess Anne would be my personal pick to take the throne next, if it were possible. Actually a very hardworking member of the family.
Charles and Camilla look more and more like two scruffy old dolls someone found in the attic. I think they both need to warble off to a country estate and stay there for good.
What can you say about Andrew and Edward? Edward is married with kids and remains in the background. Andrew's been divorced and in numerous scandals.
I think they make for an entertaining read overall.

No, I just don't pay attention. But their kids are cute.

I think Harry is awesome. I think he found his calling. His service record is respectable and he does the standard charity stuff. He has stated pretty clearly that he is super happy to not be king, and I believe him. He is my favorite.
Charles has always annoyed me.

I wonder if Harry will marry his latest? I just don't see the Queen saying it's okay. I hope the queen outlives Charles.

I don't like the concept of having a monarchy. But I am fascinated by the royal family. Will and Kate are a cute couple and their kids are adorable.
I also watched The Crown on Netflix and learned a lot about the life of Queen Elizabeth.

Not that it is a big deal, but can I ask what is appealing about him?

Not that it is a big deal, but can I ask what is appealing about him? I always felt sorry for him, because he was forced into a marriage he wanted nothing to do with. Camilla is the love of his life. He's quiet, concerned about the environment and just wants to putter around in his organic garden. I don't think he wants to be King.

Well he disgusted me for treating his wife like he did. I think she tried, how demeaning to know someone like him was skulking around with some hideous old crone behind your back. They only had him marry her to produce children and she did a pretty good job with them.
I think the whole thing is sad, she was young and in love and look what he did to her. I would have had mental issues too, poor woman.
No, I dislike Charles a lot.

My issue is the media is doing the special on Diana. It's like the news media has nothing better to talk about. Other countrys have royals who are seldom in the lead news every day unless something needs their comment.
I agree with countrygirl2 and weltschmerz. His treatment of Diana looks like a rebellious toddler saying you can't make me do this and I'll prove it.
Camilla pushed herself into Charles life in many areas when he was a teen and early 20s. Then his employee. I'm surprised that issue wasn't managed better like the majority of their lives are.
I won't be watching the special. I fully understand Will wanting his children to know his Mom as real grandma. The Briton media may not be as open to producing it.

She divorced an married him and carried on for years with Charles before her husband stepped aside. He needed to abdicate like a predecessor did if he was so much in love. He married Diane and had a duty to commit to what he did, he could have at least waited till both kids were raised. I have no respect for him.
It always seemed way to convenient that Diane died, maybe nothing to it, but sure looked fishy and basically gave him a way to remarry.

I admire how Elizabeth has comported herself over the years and even "just" as a figurehead, the good she has done for her country. I think dedicated public service is to be admired (YMMV).
I think Will and Kate's kids are adorable.
