So one of my goals is to have $1 million by age 50.
Age 46 and just reached $700K! ($100K EF; $40K in Taxable Mutual Funds; $560K in retirement accounts). Also have military retirement of $49,000 per year with COLAs and military retiree health care.
So, I am feeling confident on my path to $1 million by 50......especially considering I "retired" Sep last year and haven't contributed as much to retirement accounts this year as I normally do.....(but that's slowly ramping back up, since wife got a job in March and I get a promotion at my civilian job in Sep for my gov job).....On track to add at least $30 K a year to retirement accounts going forward.
I feel like I am almost reaching retirement escape velocity.....

Congratulations!!!!! That military retiree health care is a great benefit and should take away ton of uncertainty about your retirement time frame.

Good job!!
Just curious, why is your emergency fund so large? Are you making $200k a year right now?

$100 K EF is because wife has a low risk tolerance, so that was a concession.
together we make about $150 K per year (includes military pension)

Not having that much money working for me would drive me crazy, but it is a good concession if it means your wife allows you to be aggressive with everything else.
