I’m trying to figure out how I spent $92 at the grocery store. I did buy a large bottle of Humectress for $30, but the rest was squat. if this (Humectress) is the conditioner I saw on amazon, you could get it for $5 less with prime

I recently discovered what "Cylinder Seals" were used for, and instantly wanted one. So, I now have a few headed my way. They are 300 BC or so, made of different stones (so I can have a couple different colors), with interesting figures. I am hoping I can wear at least a couple as pendants on a necklace (ETA: one at a time, hanging vertically). I may take them to a jeweler to make sure they are done so as to not cause any damage to the stone. They are pretty, and I'm excited to receive them, but I spent most of this month's "fun money" allowance on them. I guess that's what the budget is for though.

Today I wasted money on... me and I loved it! Okay, okay. I didn't really. But when I do, I generally love it! Spend a little on yourself once in awhile. It doesn't have to be much. It can do wonders for your attitude. YOU ARE WORTH IT!

Last night, as the additional discount was soon to disappear, I bought a bunkbed/bookcase that has been on my radar for months. My DH thought I spent way too much. I probably did, I don't know. Once I saw how cute it was, I didn't want to look for anything else. I hope I don't wind up regretting it.

I just bought TD’s birthday present, planning on giving it to him early so he can use it while we are on vacation. Sounds like well spent money to me. Think so....and hope he does too. When we went to South Africa, he brought 20 lbs of books with him. He had them all read before we went to the Maldives (42 hours of total flight time). In the Cape Town airport, he bought another 6 books, and was through them 4 days in (I thought I was a fast reader....he outreads me). We were there 9 days, so he had to hit up the resort lending library....and English books were very limited. 3 years ago, I asked for and received a Kindle paperwhite for my birthday. Total game changer when you travel. So despite the fact I probably read 20 lbs of books too, they were easily schlepped. He wants to travel more, and hates heavy luggage so I figured he needs to try one out.

A Kindle makes reading so much easier while traveling. I used to haul books around with me, too.

I love my kindle! It's like carrying a library with you. I spent $50 getting my hair cut (its super curly, I hate to spend time on our in the morning, and she does the best job ever). I then treated myself to a wonderful lunch out and brought home dessert. Plus a few odds of groceries. Including the ferry ride.... about $100. I don't care, it's worth it

Not me but DH. He’s getting me a snack size M&M McFlurry from McDonalds. I’ve been working on my side jobs all day and I really want one...

That sounds less like a waste and more like a well deserved reward I keep getting sucked into the black hole that is “Ooh, DS would love this Lego set!”. I really need to slow down a bit...

$20 on having my laundromat do my laundry from last week. I had zero energy and motivation to do it over the weekend. It was double what it would have cost me to do it myself, but I have to admit it was REALLY nice to just pick it up and put everything away.

$75 on a giant lego kit (60124,retail was $120). Wouldn’t be so bad if I hadn’t just spent $140 on a different one (60076) last Friday that arrived today. They’re huge kits and DS is so excited about them he kissed today’s arrival goodnight after reading it a bedtime story I’m done for a while now. Really

Food, apparently My fridge died. It was full of milk and cheese and other stuff. I was able to save the butter, the eggs, and the hard cheeses, along with the lemon and lime juices (large bottles). The beer will be fine too. The rest will be loaded into the garbage tonight/tomorrow (we're headed out of town this morning to go see Hamilton, so can't do it right now!) I'll have to see if milk is on sale this week... I usually buy enough to last another week, since it tends to go on sale every other week.

Nothing, I'm hemming curtains. Yesterday about $20 on junk from Tophatter, I like buying
rings, watches, and earrings on there even though they are cheap stuff. But they look real on.

Nothing. I'm really tired of being in bed and sleeping. Every day I think "I'll go to the store tomorrow". But when tomorrow comes I still feel like crap, so I stay in bed. I might have to try out home delivery... tomorrow.

$60 for auction tickets. I thought I was buying raffle tickets...which would have probably also been a waste, but not quite as bad. At least there would have been a chance I'd win a bunch of money instead of spending a lot more.

A Bath Bomb. I predict hat this will be a short-lived fad. For those of you who aren't familiar, it's a tennis-ball-sized object made of compressed powdery stuff plus scent and coloring, and it fizzes when you put it in water. For $5 I thought it would last through a few baths. Ha. Bought one for my granddaughter and after less than 5 minutes it was all fizzed out. Bonus: there was a "toy" in the middle: a made-in-China rubbery imitation of a piece of wrapped candy. Perfect size for choking- probably not my granddaughter but possibly her one-year-old sister, and who knows what heavy metals were in the paints used to color it.
Last Bath Bomb I'll ever buy!

Somebody on here . . . giramomma or Knee Deep in Water Chloe or someone else . . . makes their own bath bombs. Maybe you can do that to appease your granddaughters until the fad passes. I remember having to look up what these were when whoever posted that they were making them.

daisy is the professional bath bomb person. I've made them for the girls in the past. I should do it again. I think I spent like $20 on supplies, though. So if you only make them for one afternoon, it's not very cost effective. I am planning on using the epsom salts for science experiments for DD2, though. DD1 likes them because they are girly. DD2 likes the fizzy part. The Easter Bunny and St Nick brings A nice bath bomb or bubble bar from Lush. Don't have to worry about ingredients from Lush,..

Steff makes them. I gave them out at one of my wedding showers. I break mine into pieces. It provides more than enough fizz for one bath. They've been around for quite some time so I'm not sure the fad is dying anytime soon. Daisy makes them as well I believe.
I got two more from Lush Friday. I was out. Our hotel in Mexico is supposed to have a Jacuzzi and DH hates plain water. He needs bubbles or something.

Perfect size for choking- probably not my granddaughter but possibly her one-year-old sister, and who knows what heavy metals were in the paints used to color it. Last Bath Bomb I'll ever buy! LUSH has been making bath bombs forEVER - 5? years, 10? something like that anyway. It's become its own product like soap or shower gel essentially - my market is from 3 years to elderly, male and female alike. The rest of us soap makers have jumped on the bandwagon because it's a sure thing to sell, I sell out essentially every time we have an event. The GOOD and FDA conforming makers will use a non-allergenic oil like grapeseed, an ECO certified surfactant (mine is coconut and palm oil based rather than purely lab created), and FDA approved colorants as well as fragrances that don't contain phthalates or parabens - Essential Oils are great, but make sure the maker knows their usage rates - there's a few pics circulating on FB with people who have bought BBs that contained a significant amount of EOs that left them with skin burns. Don't be afraid to ASK - someone who has been making for any length of time and cares about their customers will NOT be afraid to have this conversation. AVOID BBs that have cinnamon, high amounts of peppermint - anything that common sense says will BURN your bottom when you are sitting in a tub. I've seen BBs for sale with food coloring (NO NO NO NO), a heavy oil like coconut (SLIPPERY and comedogenic), marketed as 'muscle relaxing' or other big NO NO claims. The toy thing is eh, little kids like finding a plastic ring or whatever in their BB, but as you say, major choking hazard for little ones. There's lots on Etsy who do sterling silver/gemstone rings inside for adults - those are pretty cool but $$. They don't last longer than one bath because the two main ingredients are baking soda and citric acid - they make the fizz and foam and dissipate quickly so don't spend $$ on them. Find a good local maker at a Farmers Market or a gift shop, double check that they use quality ingredients and they should be priced around $4-6 for the BB (so it sounds like yours hit that target price). I make a 3 pack of 2 oz BB for $6 and can't keep them in stock and I wholesale to half a dozen shops as well as the gift shop of a restaurant chain. LUSH makes super magical BBs with color swirls and glitter but $10?, $12 for ONE..a splurge for most - my market is moms with multiple kids who each want their own BB that doesn't break the bank of mom/dad. As far as making for yourself, I gave my sister MY super secret recipe AND supplied her with the ingredients for my niece's birthday party...the resulting pictures were hilarious!!! They are NOT easy to make and very fickle about humidity, how rapidly you combine the ingredients etc. It's a long trial and error to get one that is hard enough to be dropped on concrete by a 5yo AND not break into fifty million pieces, that fizzes long enough to entertain, that bubbles enough to please and makes pretty colors in the tub. But a very rewarding full time job too. At least I don't ever have to ask my boss if I can take lunch or go to the bathroom!!! Anyone who wants to give it a try, I'm totally open to helping you, too make a foaming disaster on your kitchen table.
