I really don't like these shows that invent words. It's irritating.
HGTV seems to have invented the word "reno" for renovation......because it's so hard to say renovation
CNN & Fox have invented "Presser" for a press conference....I mean, really?
I'm protesting

Would that be a "pre-pro for the creation of words they have not invented yet?

Those are words created by the younger generation and somewhat the result of technological advance and so on. Of course there is the need to look "hip"! And on the other end of the spectrum we have septuagenarians that wanna put their mark on the advancement/evolution of language: malarkey, bigly, etc

I like malarkey. It can be very appropriate.

Not to mention the shortening of words like "ur" for your and on and on but even this old fart has learned to read the shortened version!!! or head to google to see what the heck someone is trying to say!!
ETA: Have to take your word for Fox and CNN since I don't listen/watch either.

All words are made up words. Many of the words we use today have in some way been modified since they were originally uttered by the human vocal cord. Seems to me that what is being protested by the OP is change.
