So I read this story too www.yahoo.com/news/humiliated-mother-apos-forced-urinate-101343577.htmlMaybe it's the skeptic in me. The chick says she has to go pee a lot due to medical issues. From my reading the plane was in landing mode so no leaving ur seat. She insisted on having to go potty. So stewardesses "made" her pee in cup. These are my skeptical issues / questions: 1). If u have this problem wouldn't u keep an eye on the flight time and pee before they go into landing mode? 2) if this is such a problem for u wouldn't u wear depends? 3). Maybe things have changed, but I thought when in landing mode u can't leave seat or unbuckle seat belt....so how do u "squat in the aisle"? 4) Shouldn't yahoo do some research before publishing / linking a story?

... 4) Shouldn't yahoo do some research before publishing / linking a story? No. Their concern should be to their stockholders.

I read that one too. My question is if she's so damned embarrassed about it why did she go to the media? The version I read said that all of her attempts to reach out to United customer service after the flight were ignored - so she finally went to the media. Also she claims the event happened in mid-flight not during the landing approach.

I read that one too. My question is if she's so damned embarrassed about it why did she go to the media? I can't figure that out either. I understand dealing with the airlines if I felt I was treated horribly, but I don't understand plastering it all over the media. I'd keep trying with the airlines until somebody called me back. I find it odd that the title of the story and the first paragraph mentioned she was a "mother". I don't know why that's important to the story.

I'm surprised at how many people go to the media and report about THEIR poor behavior. Of course, they never really say it was their fault. I'm even more surprised by how many people buy into their tales of woe. If you follow the rules and don't act like a jerk, you aren't treated like one. (rare exception)
Millions of people fly every day and don't have these problems. There's a reason a few people do and very likely, they should.

Did this lady REALLY expect someone to say "Here, let me take that for you." while giving her their kindest smile? ? ? Please. My guess is, it's not part of their job description.
Why do some people think everyone should follow the rules. Well, except them, of course. They're special.
If this same lady had been allowed to get up and go to the restroom while the fasten seatbelt sign was lit and she had been injured while out of her seat, you can bet the airline would be hearing from not only her, but also her attorney. If she hadn't been injured, 7 more people would have been demanding they were also special and needed to get up (just for 1 thing, 1 minute etc). An airplane really isn't where you want chaos, or someone distracting the crew from doing their job.
If you can't follow the rules, find another way to travel.
