Ah yes, the nightmare of actually being able to get health insurance, and resulting healthcare. The nightmare of children being allowed to stay on their parents' policies until age 26. The nightmare of pre-existing conditions not standing in the way of obtaining a policy. Although I noted the House exempted themselves on that one...
I'm waiting to see how the adults vote.

I would hide in a corner instead of celebrating this. A very sad day for the poor folks of our country and all of us. Sounds like now employer insurance will drop a lot more too and also guess what, premiums are going to raise a bunch.
Yeah a real win, only thing people like Paul will have this care also. Don't want to hear one word when you or yours get very ill and need good insurance.
This should be a shameful day of our history.

I simply cannot muster up any sympathy for people who are getting exactly what they voted for. I care very much about those who opposed him, and will suffer

Too bad I had to have c-sections. I didn't do the right thing and live a good life, so now I have a pre-existing condition.

It won't go through the senate. If by some miracle it does they will change it and then house won't agree during reconciliation.
Either way it will be just as messed up as it is now or even worse when all is said and done.

The Senate states the House bill is dead in the water and they will write their own. Senate GOP to Snub House Obamacare Repeal Bill and Write Its OwnSeveral key Senate Republicans said they will set aside the narrowly passed House health-care bill and write their own version instead, a sign of how difficult it will be to deliver on seven years of promises to repeal Obamacare. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, who chairs the Senate health committee, and Roy Blunt of Missouri, a member of GOP leadership, both described the plan, even as the House was celebrating passing its repeal after weeks of back and forth. The decision will likely delay even further the prospect of any repeal bill reaching President Donald Trump’s desk. Senate GOP to Snub House Obamacare Repeal Bill and Write Its Own

that's farther than they have gotten since all the whining started when the ACA became law.

What a shitty situation.
You don't know you are a CF carrier and you and your mate make a baby that has CF...
You don't have the choice to terminate.
You also run the risk of not being able to pay for care, because CF is a pre-existing condition, and insurance doesn't have to cover it.
Really. I'd like to know what's so good about this?
Weren't conservatives so worried about death panels? How is this better?
Oh, wait, I know how it's better. Only the upper middle class and wealthy will be able to afford to have kids.

My local news outlet stated they were covered in the House bill.

14 of the Representatives who were Yes votes are from areas that voted for Hillary. And there's a moderate Republican from Florida who has announced she's not running in 2018.

Unde the current bill, rape is a pre existing condition....
An amendment in the GOP health-care-reform bill will allow states to deny coverage for preexisting conditions, including sexual assault.
Pre-Obamacare rape survivors who sought treatment for their injuries could be denied health care later on. Under Obamacare, preexisting conditions were guaranteed to receive coverage — among them, sexual assault. The American Health Care Act is going to change that.

"But, of course, it's because the victims deserve it, right?"
Nope.
When I quoted the post, it did not copy the original post that Weltz replied to. She talked about c-sections.

This was what I was questioning. Your references also are op-ed opinion pieces that say might happen. One example posted in the op-ed was from 2002. There was no Obamacare. Let's pass the bill and see. That argument was good enough for the democrats then, it sh/be good enough for them now. As it is, Obamacare failed under it's own weight due to cost. Something had to be done, and just throwing hundreds of billions more at the problem is not the answer.

Just setting the record straight.

Just setting the record straight. But, the "new" plan is going to have huge premium increases for Americans in their 50's & 60's. I know a LOT of folks in that age group that are already in trouble financially, due to job losses, & not being able to find anything close to their former earning level. So, this plan is going to screw with them some more?!? What a horrible way to burn the middle class.

Word coming out of the Senate indicates they won't even vote on this bill from the House. They're going to develop their own bill. Curiouser and curiouser, said the spider to the fly.
