Russia won't retaliate. Somebody ought to take Trump out though. He is a fucking fool. A dangerous, dangerous, ego blinded fool. Wonder where Demi is going to go, One of the death camps in the third world countries or just to Guantanamo Bay
He's going to remain where he is. "Somebody should" does not equal Deminmaine will. This is basic logic.

If Rand Paul has the courage of his convictions he should be the one to lead the charge to take Trump out. This may well be an impeachable offense, but with the GOP controlling the Senate that is a tough battle. He may have a couple of allies on his side in McCain and Graham. If it gathers steam we'll work on Collins. This shit shouldn't stand. Why do I have the suspicion that he did this on trumped up charges just to show the world that he is a tuff guy? He is facing trouble in North Korea, a rising China, and the mess that is our ongoing entanglement in the Middle East. Xi is visiting him right now. What better time to throw some weight around and show the world not to mess with Donald J. Trump? Never mind that two days ago he was swearing to steer clear of Syria. If Republicans found it serious enough to impeach a president because he lied about getting a blowjob, attacking a foreign country who has not attacked us rises above that as an offense worth impeachment.

Not going to read your link at this time. Logic still exists. The fact that some conservatives and others keep trying to kill it, does not mean it does not exist. I will remember even if OC does not want to.

That is pretty simple, If Assad did it, it came from the Russians. If the Rebels did it, it came from the U.S.A.

I would imagine Russia's response will be to tell Assad to stop using chemical weapons,Putin is not desperate enough to escalate against a loose cannon like Trump.
Job done in my book and hats off to DT.

I will remember even if OC does not want to. The link is a 2012 thread from our board about a young woman from an ice cream store who tweeted "Maybe [Pres. Obama] will be assassinated." and subsequently had the Gestapo SS show up at her doorstep. Therein you'll find me loudly ridiculing the waste of manpower while pretty much everyone else expresses 31 flavours of "she deserved it". So don't tell me logic didn't die in 2012. And it wasn't "conservatives and others" who killed it in this case.

This is a public forum, You may not think so, just like you don't think any wire tapping occurred, it is monitored, and watched by national security concerns, for such things!

That is pretty simple, If Assad did it, it came from the Russians. If the Rebels did it, it came from the U.S.A. Both Assad and the rebels have chemical weapons that originated neither in the US or in Russia. The Syrian government produced sarin gas in-house prior to the civil war. At the beginning of the war, Assad agreed to dispose of all chemical weapons under UN supervision, and the process was complete by 2014. But stockpiles of sarin gas had been lost to military bases under rebel control by that point, hence various rebel groups had shells full of the stuff at their disposal, which they promptly used in 2015. This latest attack is putatively an airborne attack, which would require control of an airfield. Only, as the link I posted earlier describes, the anatomy of the attack isn't consistent with an airborne attack.

My guess is that Putin was fully aware of Trumps plan!
If not the Russian would have instantly condemned it.
Little too quiet on the Russian front, They may do some posturing , I think Trump told Putin what he was going to do!

You inadvertently lost the "n" in "neither" when you bolded, OC. Just FYI, since it completely changes the meaning of the sentence.

Yes, Trump's actions do run counter to the narrative that he is a pawn of the Russians and Putin's BFF..
As missT pointed out, wanting to retaliate against attacks or protect Syrian civilians and wanting to restrict refugees is not mutually exclusive. Contrary to what you might believe or what the media talking heads will tell you, conservatives don't hate Muslims or Syrians, but the desire to restrict refugees is motivated out of genuine concern for the safety of our citizens and national security.

The reason you can't believe it is because you still think the war in Syria ended with Aleppo?? This isn't the case and there are problems in Sini, Yemen, etc. So Assad actually has everything to gain because once the Balkans becomes a bigger problem, Russia would have to stop supporting Assad and fight there to save themselves. Unless President Trump keeps bombing Assad, he will hold on for another 11 months or so... On the 100th anniversary of the US entering WW1... It's been global for a while... Not 7 days ago the UN basically conceded Assad would remain in power and were drawing up guidelines for accepting the legitimacy of his government. Then four days later he launches a sarin gas attack on a civilian target (with his own people in the region, no less) for no discernible reason to incur the ire of the entire world and end any chance of the legitimacy he's sought for the past three years? I don't believe it. You'd have to believe the man is insane, and I don't. Your only hope now is that Russia doesn't retaliate in response to this. You mean this? m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_58e33defe4b03a26a3657ce2There was an attack in St. Petersburg the other day and the refugee number in Turkey is like 5 million now. Believe what you want my friend.

So none of my left leaning friends want to address any of the issues in the OP? Why am I not surprised? Waiting for your parties talking points first? I'm still processing it and learning more about it before I comment.
I recognize the history is complicated. I'm edging towards this was a bad idea.

Well Trump just proved he is the war monger I always expected he was, not an isolationist America first person like the elder Paul. No Congressional approval. None. That did not take long to prove what his detractors would say I said would happen yesterday on another thread.

So you admit the Trump -Russia connection thing defies logic! Cool My reading comprehension is awesome. I liked the way you HIGHLIGHTED conservatives but downplayed / didn't specify liberals. Seemed fair minded if you. So I decided to HIGHLIGHT that

I admit I do not know whether this was a good move or not, but listen to all the "crickets" from Middle East states this morning. No one is condemning this attack on an airstrip. They are more worried about Iran gaining more power around the M.E. and how to stop it. This might be a start to actually build a true coalition rather than the old lip service to it we have heard for over a decade now.
If nothing else the world has to look at America in new light. We are not considered the "Paper tiger" of the world this morning. All talk and no action is a dead political action thesis.
China discussions with President Trump took on a new direction this morning.

Which is why he should be impeached. And President Obama carried on a eight year undeclared war in Pakistan without a hint of impeachment from either side or even you.

Which is why he should be impeached. He won't get impeached for this Syria attack silly. He's going to get impeached for committing Treason with Russia first. That supersedes this and is already in progress I mean u can't get impeached twice, can u? That would be quite a victory for liberals though ...the first POTUS to be impeached twice.

Reminds me of another incident cruise missles were used when a sitting President was facing intense scrutiny at home, in this one Clinton had just testified to a grand jury 4 days prior to the strikes: www.cnn.com/US/9808/20/us.strikes.02/

trump doing what civilian trump tweeted for Obama not to do because it's not our business. Kind of like all the things Obama blasted Bush about and then did the same things when he was President....it's always different when you're actually the one who needs to make the decision. That is one of the problems with campaign promises and complaints, they all kind of go out the door when the person actually wins because they honestly probably didn't have all the information before then.

As for the haha what's with the Putin connection now? Well for one we supposedly warned Russia beforehand - though we didn't ask what they thought. Which is right in line with trumps MO. And I heard it allowed Russia to get any shit at the target out.
I do think Putin wanted trump over Hillary. I think he thought he could control trump, or at least manipulate him. I also think Putin miscalculated if he was banking on that because trump has always been a hair trigger. But I think it's possible putin didn't care - he'd either get a puppet with trump or throw the US into chaos with him...both could be equally good outcomes for Russia.

If he's in bed with the Russians, you're right, the attack doesn't make sense to a normal person. However, I think DT is an impulsive and narcissistic twit and not a normal person.
