One thing I would do is ask about scratch and dent appliances. When we got our fridge, a small dent on the side that would be against the wall reduced the price by $1K.
I got a $2500 fridge for $800.

I actually wasn't particularly wanting stainless steel. But I wasn't paying more to avoid it. Both black and white were way more expensive.

OMG that is hysterical! (Regular) white is the cheapest option here! ("Ice white" is indeed more expensive.)

I've always done well with Lowes. Around here they have periodically been doing extra 11% off deals. If you have their credit card they also offer specials with that.

I have a full set of appliances in my basement. They are about 3 years old, purchased at Lowes. Best price, free delivery, 18 mos free financing. They had very reasonable extended warranties too.
