Not sure he could take another day in office. He did it because he cares for this country. He doesn't stand to gain anything. Unlike Obama who had next to nothing when he started as president.

Glad the arrests are taking place. unless you know the circumstances of the arrests, i don't know how you or anyone else can say they are glad. People generally get arrested for breaking the law. I can also say I'm glad it's being done. Don't want to be arrested, don't do what gets you arrested.

I'm not happy that anyone got hurt, but when you get 800,000 unhappy people together, someone is probably going to get hurt.
But 90 out of 800,000 means most people are behaving.

Let me guess....more innocent people have had their property damaged/destroyed by a bunch of thugs and people are cheering them on like they are doing something great. Right? Cause screw those hardworking people who did nothing wrong.
Whoo Hoo!!! Go protesters!

I can also say I'm glad it's being done. Don't want to be arrested, don't do what gets you arrested. 1) protests are not "general circumstances". peaceable assembly is often met with unspeakable violence. who is there to arrest the cops, under those circumstances? 2) you can also say that you are glad to see windows broken and stones thrown. what you are glad about, what i am glad about, it's meaningless. 3) i want the right to peaceably protest without having my head cracked open and without getting thrown in jail, thanks. if i can't have that, i will take getting arrested.

Protests, riots, breaking windows on windows, starting fires, potato, potahto... i am not a fan of violence. that goes BOTH for protest and for those cracking the skulls of protestors. edit: i just watched a documentary on the SF Earthquake. the Mayor gave out the order to shoot looters on sight. 5000 people were killed. i am thinking that you and D23 would be cheering this. but here is something to keep in mind. it is estimated that somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 of the "looters" were people trying to retrieve THEIR OWN PROPERTY, including women and children. in a chaotic situation, the injustice works both ways. you guys can belittle and jeer the cracking of a few sculls of miscreants, but keep in mind that they are probably not the ONLY ones that get their skulls cracked in this mayhem. it is nothing to laugh about, and it is nothing to cheer. it is a time for being sober, and assessing the damage.

Arresting without violence is possible, unless the criminals are being extra douchey. My fellow activists and I protested something in my town a few years back. No one was arrested, nor did we break, smash, maim, assault, etc etc. It is possible. Added: What is happening now, and has been happening, are NOT protests. They are full on riots.

I wonder if any white people are rioting in Washington or if it's only people of color. I have heard from good authority white people don't riot. White people don't riot. They simmer until it's time to vote.

But 90 out of 800,000 means most people are behaving.
Or it means that the police are ignoring all but the most serious offenses. For example, a friend of mine went to a Trump rally in our laid back and relatively crime free town. The anti Trump protesters were throwing rocks and bottles, and there wasn't a single arrest that night.

Arresting the serious offenders and not every one with a minor infraction seems a smart use of governmental resources.

Pretty much how most of them look after spending the 4 / 8 years in that job...and thats with Camp David..300 rounds of golf..top notch vacations..Doctors and staff on call...so many people ready to do just about anything for u... Actually wondering why the Donald with his Billions..time in life...did this...sure doesn't need the headaches..because of the museum at the end..man is 70...really wonder if successful if he would go for a second term... He did it because he cares for this country. He doesn't stand to gain anything. Unlike Obama who had next to nothing when he started as president. geez already...can't u ever give it a rest already..the former have flown West...that era is over...for most of us it turned out just fine..eight years , left with records highs..not all of course but overall country survived nicely...now we start over...hopefully it will not be just as good but better...so why are u still living in the past? Time to grow up methinks...

Glad the arrests are taking place. unless you know the circumstances of the arrests, i don't know how you or anyone else can say they are glad. We have the right to peacefully protest...we do NOT have the right to riot...cause damage..hurt others especially law enforcement people...Fact is, if one is stupid enough to hurt or hit a member of the law enforcement community as they carry out their duties in keeping order , they should expect that they will be possible hurt and hit, and hit, and hit, and hit and hit,and hit back...

People who break the law should be arrested and charged. I'm glad this happens to maintain the civil order. If you wish to protest a election result, vote for your candidate. That's your only avenue for change in an election. If your on the losing candidates side. Suck it up and move on.
