I went off Cape today to hang out with my parents and sister for my parents birthdays, a week or so late. we went out for Brazilian food around 4, so while I should probably call that dinner, I just had a couple slices of an amazing sourdough bread that my sister brought from where she lives. (anyone in C-MA, pm me and I'll tell you where to find it) with a slice of Swiss cheese.

I'm thinking of making a lasagna for dinner. Can I freeze the leftovers? We're not going to even eat half of it. If not, I can take it to my mom's.

andi9899, I've had good luck freezing leftover lasagna. But you have to freeze it with all the air out. I put a layer of plastic wrap directly on the cooled surface and wrap it with that first. Then I use a freezer bag for the wrapped portion. You don't want it to dry out. DH is having a baked potato for supper by his request. Just a small one, but I thought it was a great choice. Remember that he has no teeth; the teeth extractions came with back-to-back rounds of antibiotics, which is what allowed the c. diff infection. Anyway, it should be easy on his stomach. I seem to mostly eat a sandwich lately. I'm just not hungry any more.

I'm going out to Pete's Smoked Meat, in Ile Perrot.
They have live blues music and classic car shows. Excellent chicken.

You don't even want to get me started on S&S. My hatred of them is well known in our family. I like my Stop and Shops. What do you hate about yours?

It's a very strange place; a combination smoked meat and pork rib place, and Jewish deli. Interesting crowd....Japanese tourists, Jewish families and heavy duty bikers with rows of Harleys parked out front.

@bamafan1954, that is excellent news! This week, roughly: Tonight: Beef sausage from the freezer and fresh zucchini and yellow squash skillet. It is the season where everyone we know is trying to pawn off their too much garden grown squash. Tomorrow night: Leftover enchiladas from the freezer. Wednesday: Something easy. Oh, I know! Baked ground beef stuffed zucchini. Thurs and Fri: IDK yet. Saturday: Potluck with the ATV club. Sun: IDK yet. I made my first banana bread in our propane fueled oven last week. Success! Man, propane runs hot!

Tonight is going to be a stir fry with rice. I have some shredded pork that I can add with the veggies for more protein. I did not manage to make any smoothies over the weekend but I think I will do one for dessert tonight.

I made chili for lunch with the leftover sirloin I browned to make pasta. I never use more than half-a-pound in either.
It's the wrong time of year, of course, for chili, but it was good, anyway. I'll freeze the leftovers to save until it gets cold.

we grilled. roommate had a cheeseburger, sis and I had chicken. I thin sliced chicken breast and marinated it in some Italian dressing. we also grilled some corn in the husk, that I rubbed chili oil on the cob before grilling. my sister made a zucchini marinara with zoodles. I ate so much, but I don't feel awful about it at all.

It is the season where everyone we know is trying to pawn off their too much garden grown squash. [snip] This turned out really good! I seasoned it with s&p, onion powder (DH hates fresh onion) and fresh garlic. I sauteed it in olive oil, then covered it until the veggies got tender. Turned off the heat, sprinkled it with shaved parm, covered it back up, and the cheese got all melty. Yum!

Tonight will be a Lean Cuisine frozen dinner. I plan to plug my garage freezer in the first of September, so want to use up stuff that is in the kitchen freezer before that. Then, I'll start making some of the soups I like and add other winter goodies in the freezer too.

I'm heading out to dinner with my sis and a former student of hers, whose family has a summer home in the next town over from mine. should be an early night, we are both still wiped out from yesterday and today's weather is perfect for sleeping.

I brought in leftover lo mein from earlier this week, and if I'm still hungry there is the rest of the pint of gelato in the freezer.
