I had no idea what I wanted for dinner, and just set out from the office driving wherever the traffic lights made for minimal obstacles. I ended up at a Wendy's, bringing back a spicy chicken sandwich, fries and a diet coke. no way it was worth the near $8 I paid for it all, and I'm already somewhat unsettled about an hour later. guess it will be another who knows how long before I find myself at a Wendy's again.

I had a cheeseburger at the football game and DS had Subway after the game. Such an exciting dinner.

I have some leftover tomato sauce with peppers and onions in it, a leftover from the other night. I will puree that down and grill some chicken, and throw all that over angel hair pasta tonight.

I had overcooked mac'n'cheese from the box. DH can't chew because he still hasn't been able to get the dentures to fit because of his health problems. So he likes it "melt in your mouth." That's not how I would describe it. I love Kraft mac'n'cheese but not when it has been cooked 15 minutes. I ate one bite and then tossed it behind his back. But he is happy, and I can sneak a sandwich or crackers/cheese later. It certainly wouldn't hurt me to miss a meal.

DIL cooked oriental for she, baby, and DD, lots of broccoli. Hubby doesn't like broccoli, so made pinto bean soup and corn bread for us.
Need to cook half of what I'm cooking as does she. We are cooking way to much.
Hubs won't eat so many things, makes it a chore for me to cook. He thinks it doesn't.

I'm seriously considering doing an elimination diet. I have constant pressure in my ears. I have been to many doctors of a variety of specialties, and none of them seem to have a clue. I am realizing just how much we DON'T understand about the human body. I want to try an elimination diet so when some food weirdo says "it is because you eat gluten - give it up" I can say "tried that, too." Even if it just to myself when I am doing research about my problem.
I am thinking I don't have to do the full blown protocol. I was just going to go a couple weeks without grains, dairy, processed sugar or (worst of all) wine.
Anyone ever do anything like this? It seems like a real pain. I like food.

Since DH had the implant screw replaced (the first one fell out) to attach his bottom dentures, he wanted potato/leek soup for dinner. If he can't get his dentures back in, I doubt he can chew a salad. Meal planning is going to be a challenge for a few weeks, but the surgeon did not charge him since the first one was placed in June. DH said this is a lousy way to lose weight.

since beach plans got tweaked on Sunday, I ended up with a 1lb package of ground turkey to incorporate into planning for the week. I chopped up what was left of the bell peppers from this weekend's pasta salad, a small onion and some garlic. thawed out a large container of tomato sauce from the freezer (one more thing gone!) and boiled off a pound of elbow macaroni for American chop suey. holy crap, I haven't made that in a long time, I forgot how much food that actually is. cost for the batch: $3 1lb ground turkey $.50 1lb elbow macaroni $.50 veggies ?? sauce from who knows when. $4 to eat for the week. there's easily 4 portions left packed in my fridge at home. dinner tonight is a portion of the pasta and a Caesar salad.

ha, I just looked it up to see what you may have found. I honestly had no idea it was a New England thing!
I will say this, though - I am thawing more sauce. I thought I over sauced it, and it still needs more.

I have caesar salad and baked chicken planned for dinner. I need to chop some veggies for ease of throwing something together later on this week.

Dinner out somewhere with DH. I grocery shopped last night but that went to my house with the broke AC.

I brought one of the large containers of chop suey in to work today, and nuked a bowl around 6. I'm still hungry, though. I might go get some more from the fridge. I also had a small green salad with vinaigrette. I've basically been grazing all day. that's probably not a good thing.

As is normal, some of us choir members went out for dinner. Had a spinach salad with strawberries, blueberries, watermelon topped with feta cheese and non fat raspberry vinaigrette dressing.

I picked up some prosciutto this morning, and made some pesto. going to pack up stuff to make a turkey sandwich with both of those things, and other toppings. I've eaten that American chop suey the last two nights and I want something different.

Supper will be filet of sole, Romanescu cauliflower parboiled and sautéed in butter and Italian breadcrumbs, and a salad of fresh tomatoes and cukes from my neighbour's garden.
Ontario peaches for dessert.

So far 1/2 piece of toast. Will try broth later. weltschmerz, do you have a personal chief? Your dinners always sound wonderful and have led me to research what some of the ingredients are and trying new things. Thank you !

I've never heard of American chop suey, had to look it up. All chop suey is American. They have nothing like it in China. okay, but "American chop suey" is a pasta dish with red sauce. so there's that, too.

I get daily email from the Mayo Clinic with diet hints and ideas. So tonight was one of their meals: 1 single package of Kraft Mac & cheese and some frozen green beans drizzled with cinnamon flavored balsamic vinegar and then a little honey. Water to drink. I have 900 more steps tonight to reach my goal.
