okay, so I know that I can "sleep in" tomorrow in that I don't have to drive my roommate anywhere, and I have nowhere I need to be until I leave for work. so my alarm is set for 730 (which I haven't slept til in awhile, I probably won't need the alarm). tomorrow my plan is to take the pups for a walk before it gets too stuffy. we haven't been in forever, and I could tell when I put on a pair of jeans today. need to nip that in the bud, for sure.
I mentioned somewhere else that I realized today that I need to cool it on the dairy for a little while, so that should help me clean up the food choices in the coming days. I hope.

I stepped on the scale this morning and was very surprised. I guess all the running around like a crazy person before the wedding kept my weight down. Because I haven't made the best food choices or gotten enough exercise in.

ahh.... got to wake up on my own just before 7. still snoozed until my roommate got picked up at 8, though. about to get moving now, and am pleasantly surprised to see that it's barely 70 degrees out right now. just going to wait on the weather forecast to see what today's high is, so I know whether to open the windows and turn off the AC before we leave for our walk.

It's only between 58-60 here this morning. Yuck! It's supposed to be summer. Guess it'll be a good day to clean the house.

yeah, so idk what flew up LD's ads this morning, but he wanted to eat everyone. we never made it past the 0.0 mile marker from the parking lot. so I feel like an asshole bc the golden lost out on a walk bc he is a little shit today. now I'm debating if I want to just go park myself on the beach for an hour or be responsible and do a few chores. hmm...

I did a 20ish minute total body workout with weights. Not much but the estimated calorie burn was between 130-300 calories (closer to 300 calories if you didn't modify the exercises). Not only did I not modify, I actually added more weight for some of them. Seeing as I did zero exercise yesterday, I'll definitely take 20 mins at around 250 calories (paused to take a longer water break than the timer allowed)!
Hives are still around, but each time they come back they aren't as big, red, or itchy. Or there aren't as many of them. I'm guessing it's an allergy.... who knows what to.

It's the stupidest thing really but my left arm looks like I can play connect the dots on it. I've been outside a couple hours each day this week and it's happened before so I know that's what it is, for me.

I did six miles on Tuesday and the rest of the days I was cleaning my house so I considered it my exercise. I went for a walk at lunchtime every day.
My mom is coming today. I know I've put on weight lately and she will react negatively to that. She's naturally fit and thin. I guess she doesn't understand how difficult it is for me to lose or even maintain weight
I am not looking forward to that first moment when she sees me. I can read in her expression what she thinks. She has never accepted I am fat, I can be less fat, but I'm never going to have a body like her. I take after my father's side of the family. All aunts and paternal grandma are, or were, very overweight and short.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she's coming today and I know we'll have a great time.
Since I'm studying for the CPA, plus working full-time, and now I get to spend time with her, I won't be doing any extra exercise for now. Only the lunchtime walks. I generally get fitter when mom is here because she cooks home made food and we watch portions together. When I am alone I tend to get take out and overeat. Something I need to start working on improving when she goes back home.

Ok, this is the week I get things back on track. My Hell-month at work is over, so I'll have more time and energy to cook and workout. Since the weather doesn't look great, I'm setting a goal of 75,000 steps for the week. I'm also aiming for push-ups four days a week.

Did the run/ walk week 2.2 today. Hadn't gone since Wednesday, so kinda had to start over. Knees and ankles still okay, but my shoes are feeling looser, so I may need to think about replacing them one of these days. Walked all over tarnation yesterday taking the kids to a carnival in DH's hometown. We arrived too soon after the parade, and roads hadn't been opened up enough yet. Had to park 1.5 miles away. DH couldn't handle that much walking, so I went to get the van by myself when we were done. Well, DH's little map he drew for me failed to mention an important tidbit that the name of one road changed. Got a little lost. Would've been fine had I not had his directions at all. I didn't go much out of my way, but the neighborhoods were a lot less pleasant. Not terrible, just not old money quaint.
Anyway, eating was absolutely horrendous yesterday. (Ive been feeling like I was going to pass out, or just drained.) Even spent $5 on a friggin corndog. Getting back on track with dinner tonight. My go-to sirloin steak with baked potato and sour cream.

This is the first week in at least 18 months I've actually logged food the whole week. I didn't meet my calories goal, but I wasn't excessive either.

Weekly check in
Missed step goal by 607. Eating was okay. Weight about the same.
Keeping the step goal at 75000.
Would love to up the goal but I must be realistic.
I am going to work on drinking more water.
Keep up the good work everyone.

Today's the day! I get back in the gym for the week. I tried the 21 day arm challenge and then realized that I'm already doing reps of 20 instead of working my way up to 15 reps. I'm also using 12 pound dumbbells instead of the 3-8 pound size. So all I really need to do is dedicate a day or two to my arms. It did give me some exercise that I hadn't thought of, so I can add those to what I'm already doing. I'm thinking of just making Friday my arm day. I am starting to see a little definition though. That keeps me going. I should also work on my core. It just sucks that I have the loose skin there so no matter how many ab workouts I do, I'm not going to have a flat stomach. That bites and doesn't particularly motivate me.

What a disaster of a weekend. I spent it with my mother and ailing grandparents. And random other family members. So, barely any steps. Food was ok, could have been SO MUCH WORSE, so I am not counting food as a total loss.
Part of my decision last year to take this new job was because it moved me closer to my grandparents. Now that I'm here, I wish I was 8 hours away again! The guilt and anger directed at me b/c I don't want to drive 2.5 hours every single weekend to spend the whole weekend sitting on my grandma's couch being told how I should come visit more often is driving me nuts.
Today is off to a slow start but I'm going to the gym after work, so that'll help!

Day 1 of the arm challenge done. My god, I have no strength... I am working with 3 pound weights. It was a struggle with my left arm, but no pain! Hooray!

I've got some major issues with my left shoulder as well. Just take it slow. One weird thing I noticed is that if I try to keep the weight too close in order to save my shoulder, my shoulder sort of catches, but when I fully stretch out it doesn't.

Woo hoo, sarcastic girl!
I thought the battle rope felt a bit easier at PT on Monday. For the first 30 seconds, lol. Then PT said "30 seconds!" to let me know i was almost done, then they became heavy and hard as fuck. My arms and shoulders better look good soon!
I am up using 70% of my body weight on the anti-gravity treadmill. Woo hoo! Pretty soon I will be graduating to the normal treadmill!
I am having fits of woe is me, which i hate. I have days where things are still sore, which is know is normal. My flexibility is shot and it's almost painful to sit cross-legged, which i know is normal because so much effort has been paid to strengthening the hip and associated muscles post surgery, and I know that so long as I do my stretches in time I will get my flexibility back. It still sucks and everything sucks sometimes. It's hard to not be dejected sometimes. I try to remain positive, as I know normal recovery for what I had done is six to 12 months. But it sucks not being as active, especially when married to someone who is active. And doing a triathlon on Sunday. My goal race is still the 10k on Nov. 5, but I'm really worried I won't be running by then. Hubs keeps telling me I will, but I haven't run a race since April 2016 and had surgery. I don't know if i see myself working up to six miles by November. He doesn't understand because he's great at everything, so sorry I have to lay it out on you all!

Cookies,
Based on my SIL's history of reinjuring an Achilles tendon by returning to running too quickly, patience is a virtue albeit a frustrating one. He is running a half marathon in the fall after being sidelined for over a year. You will get there.

Cookies Galore you will get there! just keep in mind that you don't want to push yourself to the point of overdoing it and setting yourself back. Maybe try a 5k first?

There are loads of 5ks practically every weekend, so I'll do one in October (hopefully) but this 10k has been my goal since before surgery and was one of the first things I told my PT about when he asked what my therapy goals were. It's a big mental block to think I won't be hitting my goal. I am so sick of cheering for other people. I want to run!!!!!!!!!!! And don't get me wrong, after running a 5k I will be ecstatic - I'll be excited to run one mile - but this 10k was the big, doable goal I set for myself.

flamingo, ugh. That does not sound fun!
I'm plodding along. Calorie intake this week is within reason. I won't be able to weigh myself again until next Tuesday, and I'm hoping there will be some type of loss. I need to increase my water consumption. I was averaging 60oz/day and that's dropped down to around 20oz/day max this summer.

I hadn't weighed myself since the weight loss challenge at work ended. I randomly decided to pull out the scale at home on day a week or two ago and surprisingly enough I am holding steady at 158. I have been trying to do more with my arms, so I thought I'd surely start gaining weight turning muscle into fat. Maybe that will come later. Who knows. I do have a small amount of definition happening though. I think I'm going to ask Zumba boy to show me some exercises. That guy has almost no body fat on him.

I walked for 40 minutes last night and it didn't hurt! Drank two beers and negated the walk!

I hope all the walking has negated bacon for breakfast every morning! I've been getting 13-14k steps a day though. And doing better about drinking water.
