All I attested to is what I personally know/experienced... No, I don't get tv. I don't watch 'news' I read. eta I do watch tv, just not cable and I don't watch news on television.

Yeah, i haven't heard anyone say they will vote for Hilary because she is a woman... have had a few say they will vote for Trump because he's a repbulican... You have to be kidding me. Not one woman has told you they are voting for her, because she is a woman? Shit. In my extended family I have five women telling me that. According to Gallup, Ms. Clinton being a woman is her "top selling point". It outranks "experienced", "best choice", and "capable/competent/qualified" combined. What I find unusual is that the "for-a-woman vote" (the Internet has another, more alliterative name for it ) is fairly unabashed about it. I'd have thought it was one of those "I'll claim it isn't important to me, but really it is" things, but political wonks are being surprisingly candid: people (and women especially) should vote for Ms. Clinton because she's a woman. It seems to me that feminists especially shouldn't want a woman at the helm of the Titanic as it goes down, and indeed I've seen at least a few who realize this, but it would appear that at least a fifth of the voting public hasn't thought this far ahead yet.

That can't be true. I got my facts off the Internet.
So that's where you get your 'facts'!

I think anyone who runs for president is underestimating the amount of damage this Titanic has sustained. Anyone who is at the helm when it sinks, will be the one blamed for it. The economic policies of the 90's brought on huge damage from which we have not recovered. Dumba was blamed for it. Whoever gets elected this time, will get blamed for what's coming.

The economic policies of the 90's...sure. Like balancing budgets. The crash was solely on the policies of Greenspan and Bush beginning in 2001.

VB, I offer a link to the Articles of Impeachment. If you wish to make the case for similarities, that would be a good tool to use. If all you want to do is make the claim and offer "(s)ort of like" as proof, have fun. All I am suggesting is ... And all I am suggesting is any mention of Watergate and this current situation in the same breath is absurd.

The disappointed have become the desperate. Bribes, threats, conspiracies....all mentioned today by those that believe in guilty until proven innocent.
in the meantime, it could be construed that is exactly what the FBI did.

You are correct. I will volunteer in Ohio to elect Trump this fall. You know, one of the states he needs to win. By the way, I am calling Florida for Trump this morning. Another state he needs to win. i am sure you were trying to get under my skin, but you have no idea how pleased i am to hear this. best wishes for your candidate in the Fall election. Yeh, your right. I do not have the personal time to go to Ohio this summer and fall, but I would do it to just fire up posters here. I do stand by my call on Florida. He has it wrapped up.

Pop quiz time. From the moment you finish reading this post, you have 15 seconds to decide which of the two following events will happen. If you don't, both will surely happen.
A. Donald Trump is elected President of the United States in 2016.
B. Hillary Clinton suffers a fatal heart attack December 18, 2016.
Your 15 seconds starts now. Post whether you made a decision, and if so, what it was.

The Biggest Danger for Donald Trump: FloridaIf demographics are destiny, Donald Trump’s political fate could very well be sealed in Florida. The big demographic threat to the Republican Party isn’t a “blue” Texas or Arizona or Georgia, but the possibility that Florida will follow Nevada and New Mexico to the left. It’s extremely hard for a Republican to win the presidency without Florida’s 29 electoral votes. The polls suggest that Hillary Clinton might capitalize on huge demographic shifts to an extent that Barack Obama never did. She might even lead by the same margin in Florida that she does nationally — about five percentage points — even though the state has been more Republican than the country in every presidential election since 1976. To understand why Florida could shift so abruptly, consider this: The demographic changes in Florida over the last decade rival or even exceed those in states like Nevada or Virginia, but the Democrats haven’t gained nearly as much as they have in those states. When Al Gore and George W. Bush fought to an effective tie in the state 16 years ago, 78 percent of registered voters were non-Hispanic whites. When Barack Obama edged Mitt Romney in 2012 by less than a point, just 66.5 percent of registered voters were. Complete article here: The Biggest Danger for Donald Trump: Florida

EVER. how did i do?

I think you just hate Hillary and can't see clearly. She did exactly what her two prior predecessors did.
Last I read, the only fact in evidence was that Ms. Rice had set up a private e-mail server. Nobody knows whether she used it to conduct State Department business. In any case, if she did, she's plainly violated the same statute and ought to be prosecuted as well. Her misconduct doesn't excuse Ms. Clinton's, and Ms. Clinton's doesn't excuse hers. The law is appreciably simple that way. Yet Clinton has been hounded constantly by repeated investigations that turn up nothing, and Ms Rice's misconduct never got a second glance.
Why is that?

In a way I kind of feel bad for Hillary - I've heard she's actually a very warm person, behind the scenes. Very good mom and grandmom. That warmth fails to carry over into her public persona, for some reason. Maybe she's trying so hard to appear presidential and trustworthy it makes us suspect she's just the opposite. I heard she bakes her grandkids little star-shaped cookies they call "starries", and she puts a different pattern of chocolate chips and sprinkles on each one so that the kids know exactly whose is whose. She comes up with fantastic stories about a dinosaur trying to eat the starries, and the kids eat their cookies while she tells the story. The fun part is she pretends she's the dinosaur and is going to eat the starries, and the kids have to eat the cookies themselves to "save" them from her. By the time all is said and done, the kids are so tired out from laughing and hugs and tickles from grandma, she just carries them up to bed. But then I heard she's a blood-sucking snake that couldn't tell her grandkids from shaved capybaras and she once loaned them out to Lloyd Blankfein for photo ops in exchange for a quarter million in payola for her 2012 bid. I started to suspect that I shouldn't base my opinion of her on hearsay about her "behind the scenes" personality. I don't know what she's like behind the scenes, and neither do most people.
I just commented that, according to some, she's a nice, warm person, but if she is, that doesn't come across in her public persona.
I know some people who are the same way - very different 'work' face, with a reputation for being asses, but totally different once you get to know them. It must be unfortunate for those kinds of people to know that they come across as cold or difficult people and they aren't really - kind of like having 'resting bitch face.'
For all I know, Trump is a kindly grandpa to his kids, too, and all the arrogance and yapping is just a front. We'll never know.

Obama will be POTUS until January 20, 2017. She could be President-Elect Clinton. I wondered who the Vice-president Elect was when I first read it.

When you control the voting machines, you can make them say anything you want. Want to guess who owns those voting machines?
Ooh ooh ooh....we need a good voting machine conspiracy. Praetell who does own them? I don't know about anywhere else, but the county owns them here.
You put your ballot in, it reads it, tallies the votes, and they the old lady poll watchers call the numbers into the Board of Elections.

Yeah, that is the rub, isn't it? She likely has been elected, but not inaugurated.
If a winning Presidential candidate dies or becomes incapacitated between the counting of electoral votes in Congress and the inauguration, the Vice President elect will become President, according to Section 3 of the 20th Amendment.
So, President Elect Pelosi, what's up? Just to muddy the waters a little more: The meeting of the electors takes place on the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December after the presidential election. ...
Each state’s electoral votes are counted in a joint session of Congress on the 6th of January in the year following the meeting of the electors. ...
www.archives.gov/federal-register/electoral-college/about.html So if she dies before they vote, then ...? If she dies after they vote but before the votes are counted, then ...? (The senerio doesn't allow for after the votes are counted in Mariah)

So as awful as it sounds, I'd have to go with the heart attack scenario.
