this is a conversation I saw on FB today. I just don't even know where to begin??
.. Sean - The I.R.S. is NOT a government agency. It is a private bank guys. The government, same one that swore to protect it's citizens, gave them the power to bitch slap us if we disagree with their extortion. Don't listen to the sheep. They are here to make you think it's all normal and try to shame you into agreeing with the scam. Too many people questioning this could topple their illegal greedy system. Wake up.
Amanda - Is this serious?
Sean -What do you mean?
Amanda - I mean do you really think this. I've never seen this opinion before.
Sean - This is not an opinion. The I.R.S. is NOT a government entity.
Sean - The federal reserve, also NOT a government agency, is the PRIVATE BANK that lends the money that you and I use to the government with interest on it. The I.R.S. is the regulatory agency for the federal reserve. The taxes the government gave them the right to collect or lock you up is the interest we are forced to pay back which we never agreed to pay back.

people are stupid. The interwebz gives them the opportunity to broadcast their stupidity when previously it was only viewable by their immediate social circle.

The stupidity is strong with Sean.
I'm thinking it's time to boost my Alcoa and Reynold's Aluminum investments.

It is pointless to try to reason with people like Sean or to attempt to persuade them with actual facts.
People like Sean inhabit a very special (and unfortunately large) corner of the demon-haunted world (tip of hat to Carl Sagan). It seems to give them comfort to believe that everything that is wrong with their world, everything that is "holding them down" or preventing them from being as truly awesome as they should be is the big, bad bogeyman, usually represented by government, sometimes "big business" or "big pharma" or "big something."
Their lives are miserable because some shadowy, illegal entity is behind the curtain pulling the strings, deliberately keeping them down.
It is never because they are stupid and make poor choices.

As entertaining as it may be at times is it's also scary because the amount of bad information out there and the people perpetuating it seems to be increasing.

I get a lot of these kinds of FB posts - but it's more about the Police and how they are out to get the average joe. and how there's too much survelience and how Big Brother (the Police State) is watching and how it's WRONG!!! (all of this posted from a smart phone )

It's funny until you realize how many people really believe this stuff. A lot of Ex 2.0's family is just nuts. The conspiracy theories I see posted on Facebook by his Mom and aunts on a daily basis scares the bejeesus out of me, but the worst part is all the people that agree with them in the comments instead of calling them out.

LOL! This reminds me of a FB post that someone shared of an image stating that people who complain about paying too much income taxes should realize that 90% of their tax goes to pay corporate subsidies.
But I replied given the breakdown of the federal budget, that percentage is mathematically impossible

As a retired IRS Agent, we used to see returns from tax protesters that made wild claims (not the ones in the OP) about the federal reserve and how the dollar was not legal tender so they did not owe taxes.

There is no shortage of such "wisdom" especialy now with elections coming up and so on.
One of my FB friends( because he seems to be a nice guy but sometimes not all there), big supporter, just posted a few days ago that the federal government spends every year $900 billion on illegals. And he truly believes that because that's what is posted out there!

Silly me, I always thought the IRS was part of the Treasury. Bad Garion! You are attempting to introduce actual verifiable facts. Don't you realize that verifiable facts (along with nearly all of reality) is all part of the conspiracy? In Sean's world, facts are really lies created by the elites (or possibly shape-shifting lizard people, sometimes in cahoots with the Illuminati) to keep everyone else down?
I would like to be a shape-shifting lizard person (with or without the ability to ruin Sean's life). It would seem to be the answer to the goal of unlimited consumption of donuts and bacon without consequences. I'm sure Clinique makes a lotion that would address any associated dermatological issues.

Ugh. I played golf with a guy like this in Men's League this week. He's otherwise a good guy, and all was well until the7th green when he started going off on public employees and how they should be held in servitude to the private sector. And we spend on opiate addicts. And.....
By the 8th tee I had to tell him that we did not share political views and I really, really did NOT want to talk politics.
See, some of us P&M crazies really don't like talking about it in real life. By the 8th tee I would have beaten him to death with my golf club. You're way more polite than I am!

Well, like I said, he's a good guy otherwise.... I quickly steered the discussion to... opiates, kids today- when we were young we were dum and did about everything, EXCEPT, stick needles in our arms. What are they thinking today? Somehow that was a happier topic than politics! I would have steered his attention to the snakes and alligators in the rough Anything to throw off his game and give me an edge

Yes, last Monday at the monthly meeting of my investment club, one very dependable and vocal member again explained at length why her Social Security benefit check would be much greater if all our Social Security funds weren't being given to illegal immigrants. Seriously. Of course her benefit has absolutely nothing to do with her reported earnings or anything like that. Whenever she delivers these grand pronouncements, I fake incredible interest and ask her to send me the article or the link which doesn't happen of course. Fortunately she never remembers sending me a FB friend request over and over, so I just keep deleting it
