How much time do you have? If you have some time to spare, I like eshakti a lot - and you can customize the dress length, sleeves, measurement, etc. for like $12. But it take a couple weeks to arrive.

I once wore the same suit to two weddings. true story. Me too! Both were weddings on my husband's side of the family. Husband (voted "Best Dressed" in high school and seems to think he needs to live up to that for the rest of his life) freaked out. We argued about it. I wore the same outfit anyway. No one noticed (or if they did never said anything to me; don't care if anyone commented behind my back). I loved the outfit, it was comfortable and I felt great in it. I'm not a celebrity who is dressed by designers. I buy my clothes with the intention of wearing them many times so this didn't even phase me until fashion-forward hubby reacted in horror at my choice. where does your husband buy his dress shirts?

He hasn't bought any for a while since he retired 5 years ago, but he'd just buy them at JC Penny or Kohl's. Suits he'd buy from a suit store like Men's Warehouse.

Long sleeves, but it's silk. A little too flared for me, but... (GRG starts to consider staying home... There are so many more options for winter weddings.) I like this a lot. Long sleeves give you the coverage you want but it still looks beachy.

I really like this dress -- probably because of the color -- but I think I will drown in sweat in it in July... Two thumbs DOWN! The wedding is on a beach, not a prairie. Boo!
Besides, if you're going long sleeve in the summer it has to be short. You can do sleeveless and long. But long and long sleeve in the summer is a no.

She's moving!!! First time I've seen the model actually doing turns when looking at clothes online. Weird and makes sense all at once.

The lace sheath is on super sale because it appears to be completely sheer except for tiny, band aid size patches over the chest and crotch... You need to have a rockin' bod and liberal friends to carry that one off unless you plan to layer up (and layering is hot in the Summer.)

While I'm certain GRG does in fact have a rocking bod, that does not sound wedding appropriate. Oopsie!

It kills me that there are soooooo many really cute fit and flare dresses out there, but I just end up looking like a big poofy skirt because I am only 5'1 3/4'.

It sounds like you either need to look at a fit and flare dress in petite sizes, or have one custom made for you (a tailor or eshakti). It's all about proportion. If you try on a dress meant for a woman 5'4" to 5'7" of course you're going to look like you were stuffed into a cream puff . I've seen plenty of fit and flare dresses on small/short women and they looked great. The fit and the fabric (both the amount and the type of fabric) just need to be scaled back (sometimes way back) for smaller women.
ETA: eshakti has a couple of fit and flare color block dresses that look very nice. The top is either black, navy or cobalt, and the wide stripes (the color block on the skirt) are white. Because the top is a color, it doesn't read as a "white dress." In navy and white, you'd have your tailored beachy or nautical-type dress and sneak in some white without looking bridal.

I love their custom options, because I've been able to order dresses while breastfeeding when my boobs are... less proportional than they otherwise would be. You can frequently change the neckline or skirt length as well. And many of their dresses have pockets, or you can order pockets.

I like the nautical one from page 1 This. Yeah, but you have to be skinny to wear horizontal stripes. Not everyone fits that description. I'm an average size 14 and while I don't consider myself fat, I am curvy. I could never wear horizontal stripes, but I love my curves.

I'm a prude and most of the things I find are either too short or too low cut for my tastes, or they're 70's caftans. I think I can work with this!

I could never wear horizontal stripes, but I love my curves. "Short stick with breasts" made me think OP is thin. I have no clue what size she is (if it was mentioned later, I missed it). Some people still look good in horizontal stripes, even when they aren't thin. I think the width of strips can be designed to do an illusion making someone look thinner than they are. Seems like the one in the photo might do that, but one of those things you'd have to try on. (I've never been skinny, but when I was in great shape, I found some stripped stuff looked really good.)

I liked the first one, and I did not think it was too white (as someone said - it isn't like people would think you were the bride.) I have been to 3 weddings in the past 4 weeks, and that would have been appropriate at 2 of the weddings. In fact, I think I saw someone in something pretty similar at the middle wedding. The third wedding was black tie. I was under dressed. That said - I am not sure why you jumped from white to navy blue. That seems terribly wrong for a July beach wedding. Can't you do peach or baby blue or mint green or anything light? Navy makes me hot to just look at.
