What will your Mother's Day plans turn out to be?
I have cards ready to DD, DIl, GrD1 & 2. Remembering my DM and MIL. I'll wear a white orchid or white flower of some kind.
For me, maybe brunch out.
What I WANT are things no one can give me.

Mother's Day and Father's Day are always at grandma's house. Since it's Mother's Day this time around, grandpa will grill so grandma doesn't have to cook. We'll eat and drink and be merry. We're gonna gossip and talk crap to each other too.

Amazingly (and ususually for them) both my adult DDs phoned during the week about plans for Mother's day. We will be getting together at the DD in the middle and ordering food brought in from a fav semi fast food/carry out place of all of us. That is somewhat rare as the female grands are VERY picky eaters and 1 DD's family is lacto-ovo veggie.
They are also trying to plan for my 'milestone' bday this year. I do NOT want a big hoopla or expensive thing out. i do NOT want/need more stuff so no gifts is perfect. Will suggest donations the the giver's fav charity if pushed.

I don't know what to get my mom for mother's day. I'm thinking about just giving her cash in a card and calling it a day.

My mother is a month short of 93. Every year I wonder if this will be the last year . But so far she seems to be hanging tough. She still lives in her own home (with help, my kid DB lives with her) but she recently stopped driving.
My favorite U-Pick farm is near her and she loves fresh produce, so for Mother's Day I'm going to go pick as many quarts of blueberries as I can in two hours and put them in her freezer.
I think we are also taking her to lunch/brunch.

We're going to all go out to my grandmother's in Treynor. She's been lonely since my grandfather died and my mom suggested we celebrate out there with her.

I don't know what to get my mom for mother's day. I'm thinking about just giving her cash in a card and calling it a day. That's the way to be. Quick, painless and easy. I always say I'll do something extravagant but this will probably be the plan for my mother.

My kids have been asking what I want. I don't want/need any more 'stuff.' I certainly don't want candy - trying to drop about 12 lb (down 4 lb since end of March.
No clue.

I don't think one day is enough, so this is Mother's Day Week around here and will be followed by a second week so that ODS will have a chance to properly and thoroughly demonstrate his gratitude to me when he returns from college next week. :-)

I sent all three of my aunts flowers. They're all old and I subscribe to the better while they're alive motto than on their casket. Mine will be spent horse back riding with my kids in Costa Rica.

We don't do much. Usually just cards and phone call. We used to live 3 hrs and 9 hrs from our moms, but now we are 2 hrs and 14 hrs away.
But this year we are traveling to Savannah for a college graduation party. So I wifi see my Mom Thurs through Saturday. Will try to set up a pre-mothers day breakfast on Saturday since the rest of our time is scheduled with graduation related activities.
We will visit with MIL next weekend (2 HR trip) since that is also her birthday.

Well, crap, I just realized Sunday is Mother's Day...
DS and I are going to see The Magic Flute (opera by Mozart). So, that's cool, but when we do theater, I like to go out to eat somewhere new, since we're in "the big city" and all that. However, I hate going out to eat on "holidays" (ie--Valentine's Day, Mother's Day--pretty much those days when other people decide it's a good day to go to a restaurant). Blah.
Hopefully we find a place to eat in the area that doesn't need reservations and isn't crowded. Lots of food trucks in the area, but not sure if they're open on Sundays.

My DN called a few weeks ago and invited me to his house for Brunch at 10:30 am on Mother's day. My DS and Mom would also be there. Getting to his house by 10:30 would require me to be up by about 7:00 am (at least) and then trying to get my DD into the shower and out by at least 8:00 am so that she can take her usual hour to get ready. It is bad enough doing this for a party scheduled at noon for which the travel time is 1/2 what it will be to get to his house by 10:30 am.
I just said no. I plan to go to Mom's in the late afternoon.
My kids still have a week of college left. DS has a banquet on Saturday, so won't be home till sometime on Sunday and does not plan to go to my Mom's with us in the late afternoon/eve. DD does not have classes on Monday so she will probably be with us. We will be at my MIL's from about 11:30-3 pm.
DD said she bought my gift a long time ago, I really don't know what it is.
I have a few things for Mom and will supplement with some plants.

DH is working. My mom is in FL. Nothing is going on. Maybe I'll take the kids to breakfast at the Elks club. They're having a fundraiser breakfast

We are having a no cook brunch at my mothers. Chicken salad croissants & fruit salad all picked up at Costco. I always buy her a huge basket of trailing flowers for her urn by the front porch. She sort of expects it & it is easy.

We'll pop into my mom's for a brief visit.
No idea what's going on with dh's dide. Mil said she's not cooking, which means she expects an invite for dinner either to our house or Bil's house. I've reminded dh repeatedly in the last 24 hours to set a ome thing up. I'm done.
We're already hosting dd's family party on Sat.
What I want for mother's day is to sleep late and relax. If we don't host, we'll end up going to Bil's house i suspect.

I found and ordered an armachillo long sleeve shirt at reduced price. The shipping is high. The plan for the shirt is summer archery shooting to keep the bugs off.
I goofed up and doubled up activities on Saturday afternoon. I get to dress for a tennis party that I will skimp time at then serve coffee at a choir presentation. I helped them last fall. Apparently I am a good coffee pourer! I might get back to the tennis party after.
We are hosting H birthday gathering, Kentucky Derby viewing and Mother's Day tomorrow night.
I have a $10 gift card and 20% off coupon for Kohl's. I cannot think of anything I need or want.

Evidently since I delivered 3 grandchildren my mom needs/wants nothing else for any future bdays or mother's days. I know she would love to go to Atlantic City with me, so I might try to do that next time we are visiting.
MIL......well, about 6 yrs ago we got her some radio baseball thing and AmEx has been charging us annually - so that's her present
My kids get super excited and want to plan 100 different things. I hate disappointing them, but all I really want is quiet day with nothing to do!

My mom and MIL have been gone for many years.
My son-in-law, and a niece and nephew lost their moms during this last year. We sent cards remembering these great people with love and wonderful memories.
The first year without their moms ............... I remember them with love.
