The purple one, famous for such hits as Little Red Corvette, 1999, and Purple Rain was found dead in his Minnesota home today. The lineup for concerts in heaven is getting better and better.

There's an ongoing thread in Everything Else discussing the loss of Prince.

This makes me extremely sad. I was a Prince fanatic and when I was in high school he owned a house near my parents cabin on Lake Minnetonka. Talk about living the groupies dream. I did a lot of fishing those years.

Now it makes sense to call him 'the artist formerly known as Prince".

I wonder if there will be a lot of drama with his estate. It seems to be what happens when some one who's built an 'empire' dies.

This brought tears to my eyes. MN DOT lit up the I35 bridge in purple tonight. This man did so much for our state.

I grew up in the next state over, and I am so jealous of my Minneapolis area cousins' facebook posts about seeing him live. I remember trying to sneak into First Avenue with my cousins. They were older and got in. I was only 15. I wasn't a big concert goer, although I did see him on the Purple Rain tour, but seeing him at First Ave would have been incredible. Wendy from the Wendy and Lisa duo was my idol. I played guitar and had my hair like hers. I wonder if my Mom kept the albums I had with all my fan crap. I know I kept my ticket stubs. I'm thinking it was like $25 to see him back then!

Apparently Prince died without a will. Somewhat surprising as I thought he was considered a smart businessman.

It is the first time ever such thing happening! Who could have thought? (she broke my translator...sorry)
