Thankfully there is one country, so far, that listens to its people.

Australia is screaming. They don't want them either but their politicians are as bad as ours.

It is going to be interesting where Sweden thinks the invaders will go. No civilized nation wants them. Just the lily livered politicians. Who will take 80k ? I think Sweden is stuck with them.

Thankfully there is one country, so far, that listens to its people. We already expel people that try to claim refugee status, if they can't prove why they should be considered refugees. Our screening procedure for refugees is one of the toughest there is.
And even if they jump through the hoops (which can take 18 months to 2 years) to get approved as refugees, they can still be expelled for bad behavior.
Just as if, if they come here on a Green card as an immigrant, they can be expelled for bad behavior.
We don't have big boats of refugees docking and dumping people out into our cities, although that seems to be the perception.

These are people fleeing their war torn homelands.
I have a friend whose DH is a Syrian. Some of his family members, like him, immigrated to other countries prior to the conflict. Other families members attempting to stay in Syria during the conflict, to try to keep their family farm and other property from being looted and destroyed, but now the family members outside Syria are trying to help the remnants of their family escape the violence. The nearby refugee camps are overcrowded and violent, but getting transportation anyplace else is expensive and dangerous. Locals prey on the refugees by promising them a trip someplace else, then dumping them out after taking their money. countries close to Syria are overwhelmed with the refugee crisis, and those further away, like Sweden and Denmark, are closing their borders to them. The US has always been difficult to get into, for a refugee.
It's a nightmare I wouldn't wish on anyone.
I'm 100% sure these people would have preferred being able to remain in their own country. They had lives and family and businesses there. Their heritage is there. Now they have to flee in order to stay alive, they have no idea where they can go, and every country is hostile to them.
So I wouldn't call them 'invaders.'

Yesterday was the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. The camp has become a global symbol of genocide.
My friend is from Poland and she posted a link to this yesterday on facebook.
www.polska.pl/en/experience-poland/history-poland/world-memory-site/
I think it is important to remember that these people are fleeing invaders who see death, slavery and torture as fitting. They are lawless and accountable to no man. If we don't want to open up our borders, then we need a UN force to go into their homelands and free the people from the ISIS and other oppressive forces in a way we have not tried to do to date.
What if people had just minded their own business and said not my problem when Hitler was on the rise? What if they had refused to help anyone after WWII ended?

These aren't innoCent refugees. These are adult males too cowardly to fight for their own country. They're savages, barely civilized, and they destroy everywhere they go.

The United States dropped over 22,000 bombs in Syria and Iraq last year, an average of ~60 bombs a day. We have a different set of responsibilities to people wanting to leave that.

An interesting piece on the refugees.
www.factcheck.org/2015/11/facts-about-the-syrian-refugees/
I knew only a small percentage (3 percent) are Christian, in a country that is 10% Christian, but I did not know that this is because most of the Syrian Christian population is supporting Assad, and most of the refugees are fleeing not ISIS, but bombing by the Assad government.
Christians allied with the Syrian government against the predominantly Sunni Muslim population.

It's like Major General Anders Brännström said in the article I posted earlier, zib... Further, how or why we got here - while important to study down the road - is currently irrelevant. Germany has "lost" 600k refugees which means the president of the Company for strategic consulting and analysis of the political risk in Southeast Europe, Gordon N. Bardos., isn't exaggerating when he says 400k Islamic State supporters are currently in the Balkans.. This isn't going to be pretty.

According to our President no innocent civians were harmed by these actions. Only bad guys were killed. And maybe a few wives and children of the bad guys....... The innocent civilians were free to continue living on as normal. Okay, a little sarcastic...... Bottom line, it is the so-called President of Syria who were bombing or starving the local population, not the U.S.

I think you understand that Islamic extremists are still coming into the countries of Iraq and Syria, hence more replacements. Now that they have lost territory, the inflow is probably slowing some. At the height of the Vietnam war, we transferred out probably, 97% of the troops every single year. Some extended their tours, and upper level officers did spend more than a year in country. As far as knowing civilian casualties, we all know that is impossible to know, and the same for combatants. If we do actually know, we have many people imbedded in country that our country is not telling us about.
