in Paris. One just shouldn't call for room service in Paris. TD is sick, running a high fever and sleeping. I'm loathe to leave him and hit one of the dozen restaurants that are a stone's throw from the hotel, it is 9pm now and breakfast was 12 hours ago. We left the hotel briefly after breakfast and went to Notre Dame....where he almost passed out on me. I will also be snagging a soda from the minibar.

So sorry to hear TD is sick in general, and in particular while on vacation. Hope he feels better soon.

When he wakes up, you two should probably discuss whether he needs to get to a doctor.

When he wakes up, you two should probably discuss whether he needs to get to a doctor. This is my concern. He has a had cold the last couple days and it has moved into his chest. I'm not liking the sound of that cough of his. He is a little cooler than he was earlier, but suspect his temp is still probably over 100.

Well that sucks. Can you call in an order to one of the restaurants & pick it up to eat in your room?
I hope he feels better & you can get on with your Paris vacation.

OMG I completely forgot you were coming. I'm going to PM you.
ETA: If in doubt, it's probably better to try to see a doctor tomorrow, with Christmas so soon. Your hotel should be able to recommend somebody. All my docs are out in the suburbs ...
ETA2: I hope he feels better soon! You can also try going to talk to a pharmacist.

I've given Mich a few ideas and numbers, including a private ER doc service that makes house calls (not life-threatening emergencies, the fire department paramedics do that here).
She also knows that I won't be around much tomorrow, unfortunately we have a funeral to go to. A very close friend died last week.

That's a sucky time and place to get sick! Hopefully it's a short lived bug and he feels better soon.
Maybe you can still step out for something, even if it's just to grab something new from a nearby market or restaurant to bring back to the room.

I got sick on vacation in October and my hotel was pretty useless when I asked for a referral to a doctor. I finally asked where the closest Urgent Care was and they called and cab and off I went.
Hope TD feels better soon.

His fever broke last night, and while he still sounds horrible, he was up eating an orange this morning. He slept from about 3 yesterday afternoon until 7 this morning.

I don't think we will be doing much today either. He is still running a low grade fever, and the single orange is all he had.
He turned down coffee this morning, and the hotel makes really, REALLY good coffee. He's not out of the woods yet!

Uh oh.....
We just got back from visiting a museum and Napoleon's tomb. We were going to hit the Rodin museum, but he ran out of steam. So 1 pm, I'm back at the hotel and he has zonked. I'll be paying a little more attention to the time tonight and bring something back for dinner if he sleeps the rest of the day away.
This almost looks like the flu, even though both of us got flu shots this year. He is just all wrung out and has absolutely no energy or strength.

I'm sorry he's so sick on vacation. I had sinus/bronchitis last week and I was just done for. My body was still recovering from surgery though.

He doesn't have that excuse. Neither of us get sick normally, but when we do it is a doozy. I can count on one thumb him being under the weather in the 4 years I've been out here. This is just lousy timing.

Supposedly I had bronchitis when I went in the hospital. But I've had that crap 5 times this year. I wish I didn't get sick!! I hope he gets better so you can enjoy the trip.

Have they cleaned that city up? When I went it was a disaster. With all the tourism money coming I was shocked how unkept everything looked like. Simply ruins. Facelift was in order a while ago...

He's doing a bit better. Slept this afternoon, after I went and got some Tylenol for him to try to break his fever. It came with codeine, which has also helped his cough.
He felt good enough to go out to dinner with me tonight. He only had soup, but that is better than nothing.

I'm pretty sure in Paris it's just called "onion".
