That was impressive. Very well done.
However, I am not sure why you wish to be a part of the propaganda distribution division of the ISIS organization.

I once asked a certain poster this same question in regards to his posting propaganda by the KKK. The other mods came down on me like a ton of bricks, calling the criticism a personal attack. mmhmm's "like" on your post is her way of warning you that you're also breaking the rules. Having said this, I've posted the video here because the production quality surprised me, the message is pertinent to several recent discussions, and I know the audience.

No, Virgil, that was not the meaning of my "like." Again, I must ask you not to wax eloquent on my motivations since you know nothing about them. Thank you kindly. My "like" was to show my understanding and empathy with billis' comment. The more exposure given to this sort of thing in today's environment the more likely it is to proliferate. Daesh is very competent at producing things like this for social media. It's one of their stronger capabilities. It's the cyber edge of their war on all who don't live the way they think people should live. Others are doing their best to get this stuff taken down just as quickly as they can. It's a game of whack-a-mole, unfortunately.

Now with more coffee in me, I am reconsidering my earlier posting. I reread your set-up and it is more reasonable than the feeling your thread title suggests. I do feel okay about my wording in my posting not being a personal attack. It addressed your action, not you as a person. So, back to the video. I hope it does stay up. We are bombarded with one side of propaganda constantly. Why not see the stuff from the other side.

Whatever happened to freedom of speech? The Allies reprinted Axis propaganda during WWII, and the Nazis reprinted Axis propaganda. There were some exceptions, but clearly they saw the documents as instructive re enemy motivations. I was being facetious. I didn't mind the suggestion, although my claim about being censured for a like suggestion in the past is true. As for the rest: my thoughts exactly.

I don't really have an opinion in that regard. Individuals will see that in different ways. I can respect that. I, personally, wouldn't remove it; however, I am not everyone and my opinions don't run the world. Some believe it should be taken down and are working toward that goal.

The latter isn't something to which I subscribe. PC doesn't mean anything to me and I give it no thought.

I think being aware of the French term for the organization more important. It shows that one was gaining new information from the latest going-ons. But that is just my opinion for the question you asked.

I think that one can live a long, happy, productive life without ever learning a blessed thing about ISIS. Learn about them if and only if you want to keep abreast of world affairs. If the "idiot" comment referred to ignorance of the term "Daesh", then I was an idiot up until a few days ago too. We idiots need to stick together. As for this video, it's the first one out of Al Hayat I've ever watched. Their previous releases were people being beheaded, burned, or drowned on-camera, and I have no interest in watching that kind of barbarity. This video... unexpected. It's professional. There's really no other way to put it. Still teeming with violence, but it doesn't have the barbarity or thrown-togetherness of previous releases. It's something I'd expect to see in a major video game title, not real life. I'd almost suspect it was produced by the war hawks in Washington (indeed many of the conspiracy heads at ZH have suggested this) if not for the long segments mocking soldier suicides and the absurd costs of the ME wars. It made me wonder just what we do and don't know about this group. As billis says, it's a shock to get propaganda from the other side of a war. I've been eating such a steady diet of puppies and rainbows. "ISIS is contained", "ISIS is on the run", "ISIS is being pounded to dust", "ISIS is just a few rag-tag militants". OK. I can't prove otherwise. But if they're boldly releasing studio-quality "Bring it on!" videos that ZH calls "the greatest terrorist propaganda ever produced" (which I see no reason to disagree with), I have to wonder just how many puppies and rainbows I've been fed. Remember, you're talking to a guy who more or less believed that the US had routed Al Qaeda a few months before ISIS blew through Iraq like it was nothing. Wha...? Who...? What the hell is ISIS? Wasn't Iraq...? I thought... They said... It's the same thing with this video. Wha...? Who...? They've got a professional media studio? They're promoting fraternity between men of all races? Citing statistics? Appealing to ideological fundamentalism? I thought... Cave-dwelling... They said...

My paranoia. Can they track who is watching the video? Then consider them sympathizers?
I won't watch it because of guilt by association.
