Everything's good. We understand the situation. This article just kind of put things in another perspective for me.

how so? i never made any claims about what ISIS is teaching in Afghanistan schools. i asked a simple question: what the goals of it's leaders are. the goals are a regional caliphate, as dem said. that goal is actually different than AQ. what AQ wants is for the West to remove itself from places like Saudi Arabia and Israel. this is a very modest goal compared to what ISIS wants, which is to overthrow the entire Middle East. it is an utterly insane mission, and it will be met with a very united push back, which ultimately will spell their demise. in this sense, AQ is much more "sensible". i can't believe i used those two words in the same sentence.

Dude, we are onto how things are going for the Islamic State... Just think about the fact that you just said that you weren't talking about their schools in Afghanistan... Like...

Honestly, VB confirmed my suspicions that you either get it right now, or you still want to look at this through a Western lens of separation of Church and state. We are at a fork, and this war is going global. Later.

Like... i see. you think the extension of the Wahabbist School system to Afghanistan is a sign of how they are "doing"? and i didn't ask that question, you did. i answered it how i thought you meant it in post 26: i think they are doing very poorly on their overall goals. and i think that dragging 60 countries (and 99.7% of practicing Muslims that are not Salafis) into their conflict will ensure that they fail.

We are at a fork, and this war is going global. no, it really isn't. it is a regional conflict. should we lend a hand in it? sure. to the extent we are welcome to do so. and i am sure that we will be appreciated for that. Spain has a lot more to worry about from ISIS than the US does, however. Greece? far more still. but whatever. you go on thinking it is a global conflict if it makes you happy.

Now we are on the same page. We are an ocean away from it, just like the last two times. Just like the last two times, the New World will be the "ark for freedom." Tough choices are going to have to be made, but that's why we are still here. Like Churhill said.. "We shall defend our island whatever the cost may be; we shall fight on beaches, landing grounds, in fields, in streets and on the hills. We shall never surrender and even if, which I do not for the moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, will carry on the struggle until in God’s good time the New World with all its power and might, sets forth to the liberation and rescue of the Old.” Only our island is a bit bigger, and filled with a bounty of resources and we don't need anyone to protect us, you know who is truly on FREEDOMS side..

Living well is always the best revenge. ISIS knows nothing about living. The only thing they know how to do is to destroy others and even themselves. how did you get to know so much about how ISIS thinks? Not sure how making this point somehow invokes me knowing "how they think" and "what about the Japanese"?
